Kawi

Great food. Nice menu, great service. Had the spicy noodle kawi set for lunch. Nice way to try a few things. The noodles were delicious. Just the right level of heat and texture. Presentation was beautiful. The vegetable nest was also great but just slightly on the oily side (being very picky here). The soup was good but nothing special. Have not been to a momofuku restaurant before this one, but the food and service here make me want to try the others and return here.

There are plenty of other restaurants in this area at the same price range. Kāwi is the best. The food was delicious; the service was 1st class. The dining room and bar are wonderfully designed. The spicy yellowfin tuna was the best plate I had while in New York City. I must come back here.

Be warned - the pickled vegetables kimbap is deceptively spicy! The rib eye special (designed for sharing among 4 people) takes an hour to cook to medium rare so be sure to order this right away. The accompanying fried potato side dish was the table's favourite. They were like a crispy hybrid of waffle fries and home fries. The side of brisket was also incredibly flavourful. While everything was enjoyable, it was also expensive. Our 42-ounce rib eye worked out to be $64/lb.
