Took my best friend from California to the Library Bar while he's been in town for a few days last night, and we were both exceptionally impressed with the service, the phenomenal atmosphere, and the drinks couldn't have been better. There's no doubt that this is the best bar for classic, intimate atmosphere in Chicago, and would highly recommend it.

It's kind of dark and loud. Food and drinks are excellent. The steak was even better when you dip it in the fried chicken gravy. The herb salt was meh. Yes we had both the fried chicken and steak at the same time.

Questions & Answers

You're allowed to read anything you want if you can. Pretty dark in there though.

More of mixed age group crowd of about 30, and 40. Definitely a date night atmosphere. Its bit dark inside too

Agreed with the above. For ladies anything from nice jeans and a top to a sweater dress and boots are fine. Cute casual is what I might describe it as.

Yes.

Great date spot! Dimly lit. Mix told tables and booths along with the bar. There's also The Library downstairs, where it's a little quieter.

No free parking close. They do have valet. There is paid parking near, but it's a bit of a walk.

No but you can bring wine, though, and there's no corkage fee but their rule is you have to share a glass with someone in the restaurant
