Ciccio Mio

I think this is my new favorite Italian spot in Chicago. It reminds me of Carbone in NY/Vegas. Love the bread and salami they start you with. Pastas are really good. People love the lasagna, which was great, but the star for me was the orecchiette.

We loved our romantic Italian Dinner in Chicago experience at Ciccio Mio. Our first impression was the 'hidden' feeling of the facade reminiscent of Italian restaurants in the alleys of Rome... The cozy, dark lit dining room featured comfy oversized seats and cushy booth along the chair rail. The walls overstuffed with ornate framed art is the perfect touch. The cuisine is an excellent balance of classic Italian with modern simple twists, the lasagne was special and we recommend it for sure. We loved the simple and delicious meatballs and king crab bucatini. The wine list was complete and my wife enjoyed an aperitif off the well appointed cocktail menu.We also loved the service. Attentive, fun, enjoying their work. Pretty wonderful experience all around, would recommend Ciccio Mio for a romantic Italian restaurant experience or a low-key, upscale celebration.

I heard how great this place and I had to try it. If you aren’t paying attention you’ll walk right past this place because there is no obvious sign. The inside is very dim, intimate and very romantic. Right when we stepped in we were greeted by friendly staff, our waiter was very chatty and friendly. I recommend making a reservation before coming because the dining area has limited tables. The meal started with complimentary in house made bread. Our second course was meatballs and lasagna. And then came lamb gnocchi and chicken parmesan. We ordered a little too much food not knowing how large the lasagna and chicken parmesan was. I think we would had the perfect amount without the chicken parmesan. We ended the meal with the pavlova which I highly recommend, it is a light dessert and complimented the end of the meal.
