Joanna was a great hostess. She was super sweet. Brandon our server was very friendly and patient. At the end they bring you cotton candy which was cool.. Service and atmosphere was 5 stars but the waffle for the chicken and waffles is pretty much a crepe with squares in it. 😬

The food was extremely disappointing! We had the Chicken and waffle (one) and the chicken pieces were very, very small; the waffle was soggy from the bad Cole slaw. We also had the steak and eggs for a $12 up charge ($44) for 4 under seasoned pieces of meat; my daughter had the sweet corn scramble and that was decent. The dessert were yet another disappointment! The almond gelato was terrible, couldn’t take a second bite! Needless to say we are never coming back.

Great food and service with an amazing view of the Chicago downtown! The 18th floor and outside dining make this a great atmosphere for a special night. The Bloomin' Maitake was superbly tasty. Sesame sauce and fish flakes made one of the most amazing flavors as you ate the appetizer! Delightful flavors and amazing textures are a rich reward as you eat this dish. The smoked salmon dip was a favorite of the whole table. With trout roe caviar on top and seasoned toasted everything bagel challeh chips, you'll want to see where the flavor of the trout row caviar that come with this lightly smoked dip. An explosion of flavor in your mouth as the roe pop mixed with the Smoky flavor of the trout and just enough crisp to make the dip appetizer a favorite. Crusted Yellowfin comes with special service pouring the sauce into the bowl. Slightly spicy crustin on the rare-seared tuna is complimented by the accompanying greens and mushrooms. The sauce, with it's delicate flavor, adds to the dish that it is enjoyable to eat. Spring Pea and Ricotta Cavatelli Duo is a tasty dish and comes with fiddlehead ferns (one of my favorite vegetables) and crab butter that adds great flavor and a touch of seafood to the Cavatelli pasta. Delicious to eat and makes you want to try all the flavors one of the time to make sure that you are tasting them all. Tha Lemon creme fraiche complement the crab and add a creamy texture to the savory delight of flavors. The Sous-Vide Octopus is a single tentacle that is a feast of the eyes as well as it is to the palate. If you are an octopus fan or enjoy calamari, you will enjoy this dish. Presentation is as beautiful and is a feast for your eyes, and the flavors in your mouth match the appetizing plate. It is a unique thing for an American Patron they try. It is a must try dish! This place makes even getting the check, sorry. Comes with cotton candy on a stick for everybody to share while you pay the bill. Very nice touch to end the experience.

Very good food… I had the chicken an waffles. I went on a Sunday though, and was literally the only person in the restaurant from 430p to 615p.

Beautiful restaurant with great food! We had a great experience celebrating a family birthday. Our main server was fun, friendly and very attentive. The menu items were a lot more interesting in construction and texture than I gave credit for before we actually ate at the restaurant. One "issue" I sometimes have with "New American" restaurants is that the only "interesting" items tend to be meat heavy, but at our table, the crowd favorite was the Shakshouka and Blooming Maitake! Really lovely takes and interesting flavors :) We each got the 4 course prix fixe menu, but honestly, the amount of food was too much. Next time I think it'd be nice to experiment more with a "shared plate" mentality.

Had prix fixe lunch. Great food - fried chickpeas and ricotta cheese with honey for first course, short ribs and burger for second, sorbet and chocolate pot de crepe for dessert. Excellent service. Nice view. Third visit 07/29/2021. Food was just as good, but price went up and service went down a notch.

Very nice. Portions are small though. But very well cooked. Went there on a Sunday night and was very quiet but I would expect it to be much busier on a Friday or Saturday. Looke like they have a nice outdoor balcony to sit on but, as the weather was not great, we stayed indoors.

Absolutely amazing! The food is refined and presented in a beautiful and interesting way. Would absolutely recommend. Make sure to get the char sui bacon, you won’t regret it.

Every year, during August, we spend several days in Chicago to take a break from the St. Louis, MO hot weather. We enjoy the museums. My daughter and wife go for the shopping. Me, not so much. I go for trying different restaurants. We like to try different restaurants each time, but WoodWind is now on our list to revisit. Excellent service -- shout out to Alexandra -- and creative food. For cocktails, I had the Lili Pad and our daughter had the Woodwind Old Fashioned. If you enjoy something a bit spicy, a must try. To start, we had the Smoked Trout Dip and the Tots N Caviar. My wife and daughter were not all that hungry because they had something to eat while shopping, while I relaxed at our hotel. The portions were relatively large. My wife also had the Watermelon Gazpacho. For them, that was enough. All were excellent. Me, I didn't eat lunch. I had the Heirloom Tomato Carpaccio, which was very good, although, for me, a tad heavy on the olive oil. I also had the Crusted Yellow Fin Tuna, which was cooked perfectly for me, medium rare. And finally, the Smoked Chocolate Pot de Crème. Great presentation and quite tasty.

I went here for my 4 year anniversary and the staff here made it so special. They answered all of our questions and even accommodated our request to sit at a table near the window as it has a great view. We did the prix fixe menu and had some cocktails. Each course was delicious and incredibly unique. Honestly for the quality of the food, the cocktails, and the experience I was shocked to see how reasonable our bill came out to be. Highly recommend !
