A welcome sanctuary amongst the glut of overpriced coffee shops in New York that pump dance music so loud you have to scream a conversation over your friends. Usagi is quiet, relaxed, well lit and gently walled by a gallery and bookshop. A host of Japenese centered food and matcha offerings as well as coffee. A gem in the neighborhood.

This place is very quiet and has great coffee. If you want to have a coffee and read or write, or just have some peaceful place to work, this is the place. Very comfortable sitting. You can choose to sit at a regular table or at the couchs with coffee tables. Their store is really great too!

One of my favorite cafes. If you want food you have to get there early (1pm) because they sell out quickly.

Matcha made with an expert hand, authentic Japanese bento lunches, and a dab of art in an airy space.

Delicious coffee and austere, calm, bookish study vibes for a cafe. One of the few good spots to get work done in Dumbo in my opinion.

Usagi is one of my favorite cafes in New York City. Thoughtful staff, beautiful Japanese products, rotating collection of art in the gallery, and Bento or Poke for lunch.

Great matcha lattes and cool art gallery. However, the pace at which they run out of lunch offerings is ridiculous. It's a shame because it would be a nice spot to grab lunch if I didn't have to be there exactly at noon and fight through a crowd of hungry people. I don't recommend trying to eat lunch here, but it is a nice 3pm spot.TL;DR: you won't be able to buy lunch if you arrive after 12:15, but the matcha lattes are great.

Quiet and relaxing space with friendly staff. I Love the vibe here along with the small art studio / shop towards the front.

A nice (small) exhibit, made me want to come back again if there would be a new one.

It's a unique space --one part gallery, one part bookstore, one part coffeeshop. I like that there's a variety of seating and options. Didn't like the tea that tasted like dirt, but maybe that's how it's supposed to taste. Regardless, this place has a lot more going for it than against it.

Art display X design store X bookstore X cafe serving Japanese inspired food and premium Ippodo Matcha. It’s a space that evokes calm and creativity. Visited here a few times during our time in BKLN to spend an hour or so on a Sunday relaxing, reading a book and enjoying an almond milk matcha latte.Special thanks to the barista working on Sunday afternoon :) (short with glasses - from South America).

Happy to have gotten the news they're serving Poke again. Love this authentic Japanese cafe. Great quality raw fish and other delectables. The gallery and shop always stimulating. Great place to come if you need a gift for someone who already has everything. Clean, functional designs.

Cool interior. They have rare lattes such as Houjicha latte and Mugi latte. Worth trying.

My favorite place to get a latte in DUMBO, and possibly DUMBO's best kept secret. Super sweet baristas who know what they are doing! Lots of wonderful art books to look at while you drink your coffee. They've also got books for sale, and a gallery space that changes all the time. Hard to find because of the scaffolding over their building, but worth seeking out!
