A welcome sanctuary amongst the glut of overpriced coffee shops in New York that pump dance music so loud you have to scream a conversation over your friends. Usagi is quiet, relaxed, well lit and gently walled by a gallery and bookshop. A host of Japenese centered food and matcha offerings as well as coffee. A gem in the neighborhood.

This place is very quiet and has great coffee. If you want to have a coffee and read or write, or just have some peaceful place to work, this is the place. Very comfortable sitting. You can choose to sit at a regular table or at the couchs with coffee tables. Their store is really great too!

One of my favorite cafes. If you want food you have to get there early (1pm) because they sell out quickly.

We are closed on Saturdays because our usual clientele - creative professionals who work in the area - are off from work. The tourists are mostly unaware of us, so the business is unfortunately very slow.
We do plan to open on Saturdays starting the 3rd week of September.
