About

Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina's contemporary Mexican bistro located in the Upper East Side. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina's creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Freshly made guacamole from mild to spicy, great selection of different types of Taco's and Mexican dishes on point. The Margaritas are made with fresh juice and are perfectly balanced.

Very good Mexican food in a city where there are surprisingly few good options. The tacos were very good as was the complimentary salsa that came with the chips. Good service that responded well when I pointed out an issue with my order. Can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely phenomenal food and some of the best service I've experienced. Great bartenders and managing staff! The food is exemplary and I highly recommend the short rib taco with the bone marrow and the tuna belly tartare appetizer. I dare you to try the highly rated, world renown succulent and flavorful chapulines (Oaxaca grasshoppers)!
