The Vagabond Cafe

Excellent place for working, studying and reading. The atmosphere is relatively quiet and the chairs are comfortable. Coffee is good and the sandwiches are too.Prices could be a little lower though

Great find! Atmosphere is relaxed and great for working. Iced tea was perfection. One little thing though, when I ordered my iced tea the server told me "let me know when you need a refill" which I took it to mean that he will just add water and ice to my cup (and reuse my tea bag). I thought this was great service and made a mental note to come back here next weekend! When I took up on the offer the manager/owner yells out "that will be $3" as if I was trying to get away with something. Now folks, I don't really care about few bucks but it just didn't sit well with me. Which is why I gave it "Good" for service.

Charming find! An oasis in the W. Village, with arm chairs, relaxed homelike atmosphere, good tea, nice food selection for a cafe (sandwiches, soups, crepes). The place serves alcohol, hosts live music events, offers free WiFi and the owner himself is behind the bar. Indeed, I have never been as pleasantly surprised by a cafe. Definitely coming back.
