A new take on an old classic, The Rum House breathes life into the heartbeat of the city. Whether it’s the sound of the nightly live piano and jazz music, the taste of the expertly created cocktails, the old world copper and wood decor or the din of light and noise from the bustling Times Square streets, this neighborhood staple is an experience for the senses. The Rum House is widely recognized as one of the best cocktail bars in New York City. The bar has a distinct downtown sensibility set against a classic New York backdrop. The Rum House is the perfect place for a nightcap, pre-theater drink or an evening of revelry in the heart of Times Square.

Great selection of rum and rum cocktails. Enjoyed happy hour specials. Nice ambiance, only trouble was one bartender behind bar and bathroom located in the hotel lobby. Otherwise would recommend catching a seat and a drink here.

Expertly crafted rum cocktails. Extensive menu with fun names you'll definitely find something you like. I love the vibe of this place.

We stopped into the Rum House on a rainy night last week, a bit randomly after doing the tourist thing in Time's Square. The atmosphere is dark with red low lighting and on a Sunday night it was fairly busy; we had to wait a bit to get seats at the bar. Staff was nice and pleasant and left us alone when we wanted. We had 4 different rum cocktails, all were great. The mojito was exceptionally good, not too sweet, not too mixed, and they were happy to oblige with my requested topper of some dark rum. The "pina colada" was smooth and had some emotion rather than being basic and plain. We did not try any of the bites, but would highly recommend Rum House for some elegant but still fun and tropical rum drinks. They had an extensive list of other spirits as well, and the old fashioneds looked good but we did not try.
