Extremely convenient when staying at the Hotel Edison, especially when it was minus 18 the morning we were there!A good choice from the menu but prices did seem a little steep. The waiting staff were pleasant enough although didn't interact much, even with it not being busy. We ordered Buttermilk Waffles $17 with a side of smoked bacon $7, Eggs with style $18, Avocado Toast $17, orange juice $8 and coffee $5.For $5 a cup, we thought the coffee would have included a refill.Everything was delicious and well presented. A bill of $112.14 was, we thought, an expensive breakfast. The diner is definitely convenient and the food is good, but having walked 2 minutes down the street the following morning to a cafe serving pretty much the same for a third of the price, I doubt we'll use Friedman's again.

I had a late breakfast here today and sat at the bar. I ordered poached eggs with rye toast and bacon. The poached eggs were cooked all the way through, and I got some kind of whole grain toast instead of rye. It was good, but just not cooked properly and the toast was not what I ordered. It was pricey too, with a soda and tip, it came to $29. But it is in a great location.

This is a great breakfast place in the theater district. It is located in the Hotel Edison. If you want you can order from an online takeout menu, otherwise choose to be seated in their large open dining room. The room is equipped with two and square four top tables (convertible to larger round top tables), benches, and a bar with stools where you can eat. They serve alcohol too! The room is well lit and a little noisy but manageable. We were seated after a 10 minute wait. The food was excellent and the server was friendly, cheerful, and attentive. We would eat there again.
