It's a bit daunting trying to find your way around. Signage is a bit confusing at first. The food court seems to be the hardest to find signs that point you in the right direction. Other than that it is a great old building that has been restored nicely. A big plus is the Metropolitan Lounge for Amtrak Business Class or Sleeper Car guest. Very modern and comfortable.

Beautiful train station. Especially with the Christmas decorations up. Easy to navigate and helpful staff everywhere.

Questions & Answers

Yes There Are Plenty....Very Large And Small

No....unfortunately lockers are something that went away nationwide after 9/11.....pack lite or dont bring anything at all....you will be unencumbered and free to roam.

At Noontime ~ Always best to Check in 2 Hours Early!!!

Yes. Amtrak owns the station as a matter of fact although Metra is the primary tenant. It is all the same station.

What Time does this train leaves Chicago

Consider paying $20 to get into the Legacy club. They will hold your bags, and in addition you will have a comfortable waiting room, complimentary snacks and beverages, a cleaner restroom and priority boarding on your next train. Thus far this service is only in Chicago, and it makes Union Station very welcoming. You must pay the fee with a credit card (no cash) and show your ticket.

The cheapest way is to take the CTA Blue line from Clinton (south of here) to O'Hare. You can also take Metra's North Central Service line to O'Hare transfer on the weekdays and take O'Hare airport transit (this way is the fastest but more complicated). Do that if you already have a valid Metra ticket. Otherwise, take the CTA Blue line.

Blue line on Clinton or red line on state.

Ask the ticket agent that's two states away
