Windsor Castle was home to 39 monarchs, and the appearance of the State Apartments reflects the change of taste of the royal occupants of the castle, in particular Charles II (r.1660-85) and George IV (r.1820-30). Charles II, to rival the achievements of his cousin, Louis XIV, in Versailles, France, modernized the interiors of the castle, which became England's largest State Apartments. The rooms are furnished with some of the most important objects of the royal collection;

This is my favourite part of the castle as I love looking at the armour, swords, pistols, muskets and rifles. The audio guide was great for my father in law who doesn't speak a lot of English and I also found it very informative in English too.
