Rise Durham Southpoint

I remember the glory days or RISE - a glass case of unique and delicious donuts, warm biscuits with melted cheese, the smell of hot coffee, and a friendly stuff literally flinging your order at you (I mean that as a compliment - it was fast). I went visited the SODU location for the first time in a while recently and was pretty disappointed. They seem to have pivoted towards boxed chicken meals. The donuts were out, even though they were on the menu and it was before noon. The one guy who was taking orders looked like he'd rather be anywhere else and acted like it too. The coffee was out. I ordered my old standby - bacon egg and cheese and threw in some tater tot things. Both were really tasty! so I'm glad they still got that going for them. I just wish I didn't have to wait 15-20 minutes for them. Seems like their vision is to become a fancy BoJangles. Do we really need another chicken place?

Love both the sweet and savory options but it can be busy at times so you might have a wait. Highly recommend the creme brulee donut!

We get rise about once a month since we live nearby. When they are on it, the biscuits are amazing and huge and perfectly cooked and the chicken is fantastic. But when they are not on it, they have forgotten toppings, chicken has been cold, etc. I wish they were more consistent. They still do a good job of changing up the menu and just launched a new menu about a month or so ago. Overall would recommend.
