Proper 21

it was a beautiful place. The food was great and the drinks were good. The only thing I wish would change, is that the waitress that we had would not get so visibly annoyed at the fact that we only had time for one drink. Unfortunately I am only able to have one drink every very rare now and then, due to a medication that I am on for the rest of my life. Both my friend and I could tell that she was annoyed. Overall she was professional and did a great job, but there was just that one issue.

The place is fantastic. The food and service is great. The food gets to you fast. Hardly any waiting time, not like other places in the city. Highly reccomend.

Food was delicious! However, if it's not dinner time during a game, your limited to a small menu. The food was a bit over priced to have such a limited menu. Bar Space was a bit difficult to find a decent table for two during the game, your kinda have to share a table with others. But it was okay. The staff was really nice however. Just disappointed about the spacing at the bar. The dinning room looks pretty comfortable and a nice set up. Food arrived about 20mins later after ordering. But overall, nice place for a good American meal.

They have such amazing service and the food here is amazing. I recently took my friends here for the first time and they said the proper burger was the best burger they have ever had in their lives. It's such a gem of a restaurant!!

Food was very good and the staff was very friendly. We were doing the tourist thing and was looking for a lunch that wouldn't cost a full arm and leg. Proper 21 hit the spot. Close to the White House and everything in that area. We were able to sit outside and enjoyed the people watching! Burgers were .If you're looking for lunch in the Capital, check out Proper 21. Their cocktails were tasty too. I tried the Proper Old Fashioned.

This is my first time at Proper 21 for brunch and the experience was simply "eh".My husband and I got the Proper Burger, Chicken and Biscuits, and some truffle tots.What went well: the amount of food was very generous, we should have just gotten the 2 mains without the tots. The burger patty was amazing! Thikness, cook (we asked for a medium), and it was super juicy!! We got some potatoes with our Chicken and Biscuits that was also very delicious, well seasoned and crispy yet soft on the inside.What we didn't like so much: Although their Chicken and Biscuit is the best seller, it wasn't my top 10 at all! The Chicken itself was boring, the biscuits felt like old bread and didn't provide that muffiny texture. The jam was a nice touch, but it definitely needed more gravy. The dish was too boring and dry.Overall I may come again for the burger, but probably nothing else.

This is my first time leaving a review ever. This place was absolutely amazing. Wonderful food cooked as requested and served within a timely manner. Drinks are respectable and atmosphere is enjoyable. The manager personally took care of us and provided wonderful conversation as well.

Very unassuming spot for brunch but really good! Bottomless is $29 and includes an entrée so you can’t beat that. Rośe mimosa is delicious. Chicken and biscuits comes with this jam that I would legitimately eat with a spoon out of the ramekin😅 SO GOOD. Staff is attentive, aesthetic is beautiful. Not what you would except at a sports bar.

It was really great. Fun atmosphere, good live music, great cocktails, and great food. However, once it got to be 11pm, our waitress all but vanished. Then our water refill was warm and had no ice. Then it took about 15 mins to find our waitress to get the check. Then she grabbed the check and our credit card and proceeded to stand 10 feet in front of us and carry on a conversation for 10 mins while holding our check. I'm not sure how long she would have kept talking because I got up and approached her, and she abruptly ended her conversation to go take care of our check. We didn't get out until after midnight despite being ready by 11:30.The truffle fries were great though.

Amazing food, loved the details to sauces and everything was good. 1 star less because the serving plates were not correct. For e.g. a flat dish which has to be eaten with knife should be in a plate or may be little curvatured bowl if it has soup etc. Proper bowl makes it inconvenient to eat flat dishes. Other than that, the chef is super great and prices are worth the food

We were a little late for our reservation but the hostess was still able to grab us a table. We decided to try it out before a play at the National Theater. The food was great & very flavorful. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Been once so far. I fully intend to return. This is cool/hip sort of spot. The food was great and the drinks were handcrafted to perfection.

Full Bar and restaurant with a slant towards sports (wouldn't call it a full on sports bar though. The amount of TVs was sufficient but not overwhelming). Food was surprisingly tasty. Conveniently located near wrner theater and capital one arena. Try the special bread.

Great spot for tasty American food. I had the Proper Burger (medium rare) and upgraded to the truffle fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were the best I've had! Service was outstanding. Happy our beer prices were GREAT for DC! Highly recommend dining here!
