Proper 21, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper and Proper West, opened in early October 2016. Located at 1319 F Street NW, Proper 21 is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist created by Executive Chef Steve Forbes. Proper 21 is the third location of NIEUW Group Inc. Like its predecessors, located in New York City, Proper 21 serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. The restaurant provides the best audio & visual for sports, corporate functions, nightlife and other events.

it was a beautiful place. The food was great and the drinks were good. The only thing I wish would change, is that the waitress that we had would not get so visibly annoyed at the fact that we only had time for one drink. Unfortunately I am only able to have one drink every very rare now and then, due to a medication that I am on for the rest of my life. Both my friend and I could tell that she was annoyed. Overall she was professional and did a great job, but there was just that one issue.

The place is fantastic. The food and service is great. The food gets to you fast. Hardly any waiting time, not like other places in the city. Highly reccomend.

Food was delicious! However, if it's not dinner time during a game, your limited to a small menu. The food was a bit over priced to have such a limited menu. Bar Space was a bit difficult to find a decent table for two during the game, your kinda have to share a table with others. But it was okay. The staff was really nice however. Just disappointed about the spacing at the bar. The dinning room looks pretty comfortable and a nice set up. Food arrived about 20mins later after ordering. But overall, nice place for a good American meal.
