Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown

About

We opened Pizzeria Paradiso so we could make the kind of pizza we longed for but couldn’t find in the DC area; the kind of pizza where the crust was the most important part. To create that crust, we start with a wood-burning, domed, stone oven able to cook at a temperature of 650 degrees and above. Then we placed the oven at the heart of the restaurant so our guests would feel the warmth and comfort of its glow evocative of the warmth felt in a close friend’s home. Next, we developed a dough that would respond to our oven the way we dreamed. We let our dough rise slowly, work it by hand, lightly grace it with the finest quality toppings, finish it with extra virgin olive oil and cook it in our beloved oven.

Finding a good pizza place is not difficult these days. I chose brick oven because they are just faster and cook better. The smoky flavor goes really well with olive oil. I once had a pizza in Colorado where they had chewy crust which goes very well with honey. Why the three stars? They are slow. It's supposed to be a better experience. First things first, serving water shouldn't take 10mins. It's a basic dining etiquette. We had to find someone literally to serve us and got someone from the kitchen. Evidently they were short staffed. But unapologetic. So the pizza was fine. I missed my home town Seattle's serious pie. It's much better literally and the serve you well. Its just a feedback. Thanks

The food was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was super nice as well. My family and I had a great time and would definitely come again when we visit DC again.

Not really, I mean, I walk to the pizzeria. There are a lot of good places near Paradiso. So yo can yo by metro or walking.

There are a handful locations now, so technically you can call it a chain. However, I don't generally get the same feeling I get from chain restaurants like McDonald's or Friday's here.
