Well trying out the traditional white house correspondent menu. It is okay but I still need some meat with my pasta even if it is cooked with vodka.

I had the Chesapeake Bennie - amazing. Nice, thick English muffin topped with a delicious jumbo lump crab cake and egg Benedict. The hollandaise was creamy and flavorful. The New England Clam Chowder was also very, very good. All around great food and fantastic service.

Always a great place for dinner. We hadn't been for a while so we decided to go for my wife's birthday. As usual, great food, good ambience and polite, attentive service. I highly recommend this place.

Ambiance is great! Very romantic and historic. Menu is extensive. Meatloaf was great and enormous. We also had a hot toddy that was pretty good.

I am not sure there is any sit down eating establishment closer to the White House (unfortunately, you can't SEE the WH though). This is a nice upscale bar/ grill with great ambiance and lighting and not too overly priced given the location. We were immediately seated one evening, had a very punctual and attentive server. The provided a child's menu with games on it, complimentary tasty warm bread, and our meals were all very good and nicely sized. Overall really pleased with this place and will likely return in the future.

When you walk in, it's a very comforting, clean, and classy environment. The waiters provided enough information and help which was reassuring. As everyone else says, the food here is pure deliciousness. The old England clam chowder and the chicken sandwich had a bunch of flavor and filled me up.

A very nice restaurant, which is in the center of Washington DC, across street from the White House. A very classy venue. A unique sale pitch of the restaurant is it offers half price oysters every afternoon from 3pm to 6:00pm. When we walked in the restaurant at around 3:00pm, it was fully packed. Not sure whether they all come for the seafood. A young gentleman next to our table ordered oyster platter twice nothing else, interesting. However, the oysters were indeed very fresh. I ordered a companion drink called "oyster shouter". Valet parking for $12 is totally worth it. Strongly recommend it.

Easily the most quality restaurant in the area. The staff is some of the most proffesional and friendly people I've met. They have a wide range of food and drink items on the menu, and everything I have ever been served has always been fresh and delicious.

Went here with a couple of friends. The food was very good; we all ordered different entrees and we were all very happy with them. And The Flying Horse beer paired with all of our meals quite excellently.Don't be deterred by the construction in the mall; they are open, and the food was great.

New England clam chowder was amazing. Very good flavor. The prices are great and the atmosphere is like going back in time!

Good food. Nice variety of choices for lunch. Service was great. Love the olden atmosphere. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, and coming from someone who grew up on the Chesapeake, it was pretty good. Probably should have ordered just the crab cakes and not the sandwich. Look forward to visiting again.

We had a mid-afternoon lunch here of hamburgers and french fries after doing our walking tour around downtown Washington, DC taking in the sites during the Christmas Holiday Season. Old Ebbitt Grill is a landmark restaurant, most noted for its oysters and seafood. A must stop in when in the area. Our lunch was well prepared and quite tasty. Very enjoyable and busy place.

Energetic vibe. Service is good overall, but bartender needs to pay better attention to guests sitting at the bar. Food is average and the quality has slipped a bit since our last visit.

Service for such a high end looking place was more than a little bit disappointing. My friend and I moved to three different bats before getting halfway decent service( I’ve someone even noticing that we needed Menzies etc). The drinks were good however, as was the food. Which is why this place received 3 sta

We went for a late Valentine's Day dinner. The service was excellent, and we were seated in one of the rear bar areas, which was enjoyably more secluded from the main room uo front. We had their Valentine's Day "surf and turf" special, which, while smallish in size, was really good. Our waiter seemed a little annoyed after one of us was spilled on, but the manager definitely made things right, and we will likely return again next time we are in town.
