New (to me) restaurant, stopped in for lunch on a whim and was completely thrilled with the whole experience! I didn't catch the name of the woman who took my order, but she was a slender black woman with gorgeous skin and a lovely calm demeanor (hopefully this narrows it down for the business so they can share my positive feedback with her!) She was so helpful with explaining the menu as well as very attentive in the dining area. My vanilla latte was delicious, as was the beef sandwich I ordered. 10/10 will return and have already shared my experience with friends and coworkers!

We love our experience at the Hotel Mertens. We have been there a few times, just for my husband and myself for anniversaries birthdays. We went just before the Trans-Siberian orchestra with her whole family as well. it is always a wonderful experience. The food is wonderful. Wheather is a hamburger or something more Grand than that, it's always very very good. But the best part is the intimacy of the environment. I love that they don't change it from the era that it was built. Therein lies the grandest charm. Its as if Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall we'll walk in the door. Love this place! walk in the door... It's just that kind of place.

Great place to grab delicious French food and fancy drinks with friends. Everything I’ve had here was delicious. Ask about the specials. And definitely try one of the drinks from their original menu. (And get the story about the menu too.)I also love the bakery and coffee shop on the other side. It’s surprising how quiet it is. I’ve spent hours working or chatting with friends. No interruptions, great coffee, amazing desserts. Plus the decor really does remind me of old European cafes.

Questions & Answers

Prices are fair for the quality of the food

Yes! We love little ones! Crayons come in handy with our butcher paper table tops, full kids menus are offered for breakfast time and dinner time, and yes-- we have high-chairs and boosters.

Hi Diane, there is no dress code at Haute or anywhere at New Hotel Mertens. ...though we have noticed that people tend to dress up a little more on the roof. We hope to see you soon!

Salads for sure. Pretty good too.

I would call and ask the host. :)
