Mr. Bones

Favorite AMI eatery! Literally a cuisine for everyone! One of the only places I can take my vegan friends that they are head over heels with! Don't even ask!

Ok at best. Menu is diverse(bbq,Indian,vegan)Since it’s a BBQ joint I felt compelled to eat BBQ. Ordered 1/2 cx with hot bbq. White meat was dry, dark meat could have been cooked more. Zero smoke flavor, no spicy at all. Sides were the most enjoyable part of meal. Sign entering dining room- the chef wants to tell you how great he is. If I would have seen that on the way in I would have left. Let the food speak for itself.

Good food. Best potato salad and baked beans around. Overall good experience. Prepare to be crowded, small restaurant. Food was warm but not hot like I would want. That is the reason for the 4 star.

Fan tastic! The service was good the food was great! Delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Some of the best gumbo I've ever had. We had a fantastic time there.

This was a good traditional BBQ place. The food was good but the menu and seating were limited The nice thing was that they had drinks on ice for you to choose from when you first walked in the door. It was a funtouch.

Food was good, though my philly could have been warmer. Kids loved the atmosphere and the food. They were very accommodating of our large party.

This place has the probably best Honey Glazed Babyback Ribs in the world. They are falling off the bones and the Honey glaze is as tasty as can be. They come with a special rice and a coice of two sides. Try the potato salad, this is marvelous. But also the Cole slaw is a good choice. But you can also find a good variety of New Orleans style menus (Yambalaya or Gumbo) as well as dishes with an indian twist. The style of the restaurant is special. When you come in you are invited to have a beer out of the coffin (yeah, coffin, not joking) and on the walls you can see voodoo style masks. Looks a bit uncommon when you are visiting the first time, but we like it.

My family came here on a recommendation a few years ago and we fell in love with the place. It has a great atmosphere and the food was SO good. I can't say enough good things about Mr Bones. We regularly talk about wanting to make a trip back to Florida just to go here.

Mr. Bones! This place is worth the trip to Anna Maria all by itself. Food was awesome! Had the ribs-could have had seconds they were so good. Service was great. Love the Day of the Dead decor, and who doesn't appreciate having a coffin as a beer chest. I was very impressed by their green policies. They serve water on request. No straws. Carryout are in eco-friendly containers. I know there is more, but mainly they walk the walk. Glad I went. Ready to go back.

Been enjoying this place and the FANTASTIC food since about 1985

Great service, flavor (spare ribs, chopped pork, wings) and tenderness. I give this place four stars because the menu is two items short of what we were looking for. IF you are looking for brisket or potatoes (baked or fried), you will not find them here.

A must stop while on Ana Maria island, great bar b que and cold beer! Seating is limited, so there is await sometimes, but worth the wait, why be in a hurry, your on island time! Everything on the menu I tried has been great. Cool little laid back spot for some cold beers and a bite.

So you wouldn’t expect it from a BBQ place called “Mr. Bones” but this the best vegan menu on the island! The Thai Curry with Tofu is one of the all-time best vegan meals of my life! The owner Charlotte visited with us and told us that they have been here for 27 years and are always looking for ways to have something for everyone. It is obvious she is passionate about providing a unique dining experience. Oh, and they have vegan pie!😊 We will be back!
