Monterrey Mexican Restaurant

All around best Mexican restaurant in Chapel Hill/Carrboro. Range of food from authentic to more Americanized dishes, are all of which are great; cheese dip (particularly the chorizo queso) is fantastic. The service is typically excellent. Wish they still had a separate lunch menu with lower prices, but the overall quality still keeps me coming for dinner.

I've eaten at Monterey more times than I can count over the years having grown up in the area & the food is great, but good food doesn't matter if getting to your table is like walking across ice. My dad slipped and dislocated his shoulder & I almost slipped a few times due to the floor feeling like it was wiped down with crisco. Seriously, I have never felt a floor so slick in a restaurant. Probably a one time thing (hopefully) but we had to call EMS to come pop his shoulder back in place when we got home.

One of the best Tex-Mex restaurants in Chapel Hill-Carrboro! I fell in love with the supreme Chicken Nachos from their food truck parked on Franklin Street, and that drew me to their beautiful restaurant on 15-501. Their pinto beans and Mexican-sryled rice are perfect, along with their cheese enchiladas. The only thing they could improve on is to offer s special chunky guacamole prepared and created tableside like Rocco's Tacos does in Ft.Lauderdale (and another Mexican restaurant in Raleigh). Basically, they need to move away from pureed guac to a chunky one made to order.

I like this place. Everyone is friendly, their service is super quick. They have a large and varied menu, everything from street tacos to carnitas. (Really decent carnitas by the way) Also, really decent house hot sauce too but you gotta ask for it.

I would categorize Monterrey as consistently reliable. Decent food at a fair price and quick from order to arrival. Service is good, dependable, and attentive.

I am not a big fan of Mexican Cuisine in general, but this place serves exceptionally delicious food. Moreover, staff is very attentive and nice. I rarely eat in Mexican Restaurants but when I do, one can bet it is that one!

Best Mexican food in the area. Both locations are always delicious, fast, and very friendly. Everything I've ever eaten from this restaurant has been delicious, and I highly recommend the fajitas Monterrey and the enchiladas supremas, but you really can't go wrong with anything here. Kid friendly, my niece and nephews love this place, and great drink prices. If you're in the mood for traditional Mexican food, there is no place better.

This place has such a great atmosphere! Everyone was very friendly and efficient. The food came out so fast and it tasted amazing! I will definitely visit again!

Great food, great service, friendly hosts, great prices and one heck of a selection, they offer just about everything, will definitely be eating here again.

I LOVE this restaurant! Excellent food, service tonight was FANTASTIC! Went with in-laws from out of town, 4 year old who was excellent, and husband. Waitress was phenomenal, especially to child but asked great questions and was incredibly attentive. Food was fast and fantastic. When in doubt get the ACP (Arroz con pollo) or the one under it with more veggies and meat.

Usually love it but first experience with the new drink menu was a let down. Had to swnd back the new 'skinny fresh margarita.' It was undrinkable!

This location has a really kind waitstaff and a lovely clean inside. We love to eat here because the food is always delicious and consistant and the price is just right. Highly recommend for a family tex mex meal.

I can not say anything bad about this place! I can say a million good things! Great customer service! Food was hot and delivered fast. Everyone must try! I actually ate all of it! That's a first, so delicious!
