Mare Oyster Bar

Romantic gem hidden off of the main alley with outdoor seating and a starry view. This Italian seafood restaurant is a must see, with large portion and candle lit tables it is the perfect location for a date night. Lobster bisque is to die for but very rich and could be a meal in its own unless you are sharing it with your significant other. Absolutely must eat the oysters.... High end options that are fresh and full of flavor.

3.75 - 4 stars ~ Great food. Like the oysters at here. Wish they offer some west coast oysters. Tight seating space. Might end up rubbing elbow with the next table. The fish entree at Mare is delicious and well prepared. Cook just right.

Service was great. Really great. Friendly staff beautiful setting. Great experience. I loved the burrata/prosciutto appetizer. Lobster spring rolls were underwhelming. I splurged and ordered the stuffed lobster at market price (which turned out to be $70!!!). I was very disappointed. I love lobster and figured this would be the apex specimen. It was not. The detached claw meat was good but the cartilage was still inside. The tail meat was still in the shell and very tough. The filling was bland and slimy bread with two overcooked shrimp mixed in. I was filled with buyer's remorse and bloat. I love this chain and will go to their other restaurants, but I'll stick with the staples.
