My business partner and I had a wonderful experience here in January while visiting NYC for a conference. We sat at the bar and received incredibly attentive service. We sent colleagues there the next night and they had the same wonderfully attentive experience. The vibe was cozy but lively on a cold (thankfully not too cold!) winter night. The food was delicious - really everything we tried was so good. Thanks for getting us out of mid-town and giving us an awesome NYC meal to remember!

We came here for an early dinner and it was simply perfect. Firstly the food is exceptional with a special shout out to the Ravioli special stuffed with house made ricotta and egg yolk - it is sensational. Everyone bangs on about the olive cake for dessert but try the lavender ice cream as well, it’s packed with flavor and will send you to all sorts of places. Our sever Dennis really added to the experience as well. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and always ensured our glasses were full with the Lambrusco we ordered. Good job sir!

Lovely restaurant with great ambiance. Very busy on weekends, but waiting for a bar seat was absolutely worthwhile. The food and wine was all very well priced. The staff was helpful and nice. The pastas all looked so great it was hard to choose, but we left absolutely satisfied. I recommend the octopus, spaghetti and ordering a dessert or two.

Food was very flavorful!! Appetizers of Roasted Mushrooms and a Beet Salad were both incredible. The entrees were memorable - Garganelli pasta with a Mushroom Ragu and a Charred Octopus dish were mouth watering. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. A great dining experience.

Dining here is a life-changing culinary experience. The wine list is specially curated, complete with a map of Italy showing the regions from where the wines come as well as what types of foods pair best: this is extremely helpful to the novice. The food is more than just delectable: the mouth waters before you even see the waiter approaching your table. While not especially extensive - which in a way is better - the menu is very complete, in that it has a wide variety of items for folks of every proclivity, including vegans and vegetarians, meat eaters and fish lovers alike. The truffles appetizer is absolutely astounding, and the pasta dishes are as good as what we've eaten in Positano. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly!

Great pastas, we tried the special squid ink pasta of the day with sea food and it was great, so was the gnocchi. We are planning to come back to try the rest. Charred octopus was great too. Wagyu beef was on the salty side and was better with alcohol. Overall the meal was great, so was the service, just a long wait sometimes so better get a reservation in advance.

My favourite restaurant in NYC. Food, service and vibes are all top notch. Come here with the lads for some great eats and a side of banter, bring your parents and have them love the pasta while probably reading the menu with their phone light, or bring a date and see what happens. L'Artusi hits different.

Italian restaurant on a quiet street in the heart of the West Village. Good date spot. Excellent food, decent drinks list, good ambience. Would recommend sitting at the bar if you’re a couple. It gets very busy, so you’ll need a reservation, or be prepared for a long wait. You can put your name on the door (they’ll take your number) and head elsewhere for a drink while you wait.Recommend.

Lived up to the hype, worth the wait. Everything was delicious, reasonably priced and portioned and the service was great

L’Artusi has the most amazing atmosphere and service in a New York City restaurant. The food was excellent, the ricotta cheese appetizer and olive oil cake are a must.

As intimate as you can get in NYC. Ricotta cheese, any pasta and olive oil cakes are a must

Exceeded our expectation! The food was exceptional but the high quality service by the team made the difference. We will be back when we visit and we strongly recommend sitting at the bar and engaging with the knowledgeable and experienced staff.

Questions & Answers

The price is resonable for this style of restaurant. It's not cheap, and it's not too expensive either. Definitely worth it!

Yes they do, but do so as early as you can. You'll be more likely to get a seat.

Casual

Pretty sure only stairs.

In relation to every “ exciting” eatery in NY, it’s relatively relaxed in terms of prices , and the experience the atmosphere, and the wait staff, are all extraordinary.

Hey Karen, this restaurant/bar as well as the west village neighborhood is very safe. I've left here very late in the night and i never felt nervous or concerned during the walk to the nearby subway stations, hope this eases your concerns!

I believe so. No steps at the entrance and while there is an upper level, most tables are on the main floor. It is often crowded which may be more of a deterrent than anything else.
