$22 for two. Not bad. Order very spicy you won’t be disappointed.

NOTE: I created this review for Laoma in NJ but somehow its moved to Laoma in Flushing.I lived in Queens and used to go to Flushing once a week so I know what I’m expecting. I don’t know how much control Laoma has on this NJ location, but the taste here is inferior. The soup base, which is supposed to be Laoma’s trade secret, tastes flavorless and bitter, and, as you can guess, it’s not spicy enough. The ingredients are also different, especially the noodle and potato, which should be the easiest things to get. Also they don’t call your number, so you need to keep on eye on the counter. With that said, it’s still the best Malatang in NJ and, unlike in Flushing, they don’t have credit card minimum. I’m thrilled that Laoma chose their first outpost to be here, but I’m equally disappointed that it’s not as good as what it could be. Next time if I’m in Flushing, I’ll still crave for Laoma despite the pain of street parking.

So many options, all food is so fresh. Yummy. Reasonable price, like $20 for a bowl to feed two people

Great place to eat if you’re after a spicy dry hot pot!!!! Highly recommend this place. They charge by the pound, so be smart about what you order. The way this works is you get to pick and choose your own meats etc, in which at the end of it, they weigh it to work out how much to charge you.Highly recommend to choose predominantly the sliced beef. Seafood isn’t so fresh, so wouldn’t recommend that to much. It’s definitely worth a try. Just don’t be pressured by the workers to buy more. And make sure you do tell them to put less of whatever you choose (if you want).Recommendation is to order mild as it does get quite spicy while you’re constantly eating it...mind you, it’s absolutely delicious.

Love me some dry hot pot. The extra spicy is very spicy so proceed with caution

The meals here are okay. You get to choose a basketful of vegetables, and buy meat charged per pound, which they'll cook either in soup or as a stir fry. If you're looking for something inexpensive, quick, and optionally spicy, this will do. If you want depth of flavor from a palette of spices, this comes out lacking.

Awesome spicy dry pot. This is what all dry pots should be!
