$22 for two. Not bad. Order very spicy you won’t be disappointed.

NOTE: I created this review for Laoma in NJ but somehow its moved to Laoma in Flushing.I lived in Queens and used to go to Flushing once a week so I know what I’m expecting. I don’t know how much control Laoma has on this NJ location, but the taste here is inferior. The soup base, which is supposed to be Laoma’s trade secret, tastes flavorless and bitter, and, as you can guess, it’s not spicy enough. The ingredients are also different, especially the noodle and potato, which should be the easiest things to get. Also they don’t call your number, so you need to keep on eye on the counter. With that said, it’s still the best Malatang in NJ and, unlike in Flushing, they don’t have credit card minimum. I’m thrilled that Laoma chose their first outpost to be here, but I’m equally disappointed that it’s not as good as what it could be. Next time if I’m in Flushing, I’ll still crave for Laoma despite the pain of street parking.
