Kellari Taverna is located in the heart of New York City, three blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Theater District. The dining room decor evokes a subterranean wine cellar designed with contemporary elegance. Kellari features the traditional Greek taverna specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops and meats, and an eclectic selection of contemporary Hellenic savory appetizers ("mezedes") created by our chefs. Our menu also features a variety of Greek cheeses, baked or flamed 'Saganaki' style, as well as a selection of Raw and Marinated seafood. The Kellari dessert menu includes innovative specialties such mastiha pudding and warm sokolata with halva ice cream as as well as traditional favorites such as Baklava and Galaktoboureko. Kellari Taverna offers an extensive international wine list.

Very fine restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is amazing!I took the Paidakia and Faroe island solomos (Lamb and bass)The food is very tasty and theres a Kellari Burger for children too!I recommend this place for everybody that want to pay for real food!

Good food but terrible service. If you visit here during rush you will "enjoy" long wait times for your food. At 1:15pm on a Friday I sat at the bar (party of 1) and waited 45 minutes for my appetizer to arrive. No one came over to apologize, expedite, or otherwise manage the situation. The couple next to me who ordered just before I did received their four(!) dishes and finished them while I waited for my one. On another occasion our party came early and was served promptly because the place was almost empty. Once the lunch rush started, however, our waiter disappeared and it took forever to get the check. For the price it just isn't worth the hassle and frustration.

Reaaaaally good greek food, their lamb shank is cooked for 4 hours and tastes amaaaaazing!!!! Really good appetizers too.
