About

Back in 2004, Kash along with some classmates had decided to plan a restaurant for their senior level marketing class at UAB. The project took the full course of the semester and after several grueling months of research they came up with an idea to start a seafood restaurant with a beach feel. The final business plan was to be presented in front of a group of investors. Following the presentation, the investors stated that as long as the business plan was followed, it would be successful. Hearing their response they decided to give it a shot. They figured they would not have a hard time getting started as they had some connections with a large seafood supplier in Bayou La Batre, Louisiana. The original concept had been to have a seafood market as well as a restaurant. So naturally they started off as just a seafood market and decided to grow into the restaurant side. Once they started the restaurant side however, business was kicking off well. The market side was eventually shut do

I ordered over $100 worth of food around 12 pm for our Easter dinner through DoorDash for a 2:45 pm delivery. Our food arrived on time; however, everything was ice cold and congealed. I called the store and received poor customer service. The First Lady answered the phone saying that they put the order in how DoorDash sends it and that my food sat under the heating lamp. I told her that’s not correct so she had me on hold for the manager. When he got on the phone, he did not offer an apology and then kept telling me it wasn’t their fault and that DoorDash doesn’t offer scheduled pick-up and that all they do is prepare the food, which is a LIE! I explained I work in the service business too that utilizes DoorDash and it is an option. His customer service was nonexistent, he was rude, and the part that upset me the most is that he didn’t even offer an APOLOGY!! I will NEVER ORDER from here again and will advise all my family and friends not to as well!!!

The food was good and the service was friendly. They also had enough beer options to enjoy and not break the bank. Additionally, the food came out fairly quickly. They got us in and out, all pretty quickly.

Great local restaurant. We went for an early dinner Friday, Feb 15 and I'm glad we did because there was a line starting by the time we left. The restaurant is not very big and the decor is average. However, the food is delicious! The fried green tomatoes with crab is a must try even though I thought they had too much sauce. My husband enjoyed the gater bits. The waiter recommended the stuffed grouper, which my husband had. I had the stuffed shrimp with mashed potatoes instead of rice. Again everything was delicious! The waiter was friendly and attentive. The cost is higher than the typical Red Lobster but it is right in line with a gulf coast restaurant in Destin, Fl. You get what you pay for and here the quality of the food is worth the cost.

We are open on Christmas Eve until about 8:00 PM. Hope to see you soon!

Check out Cajun Cleaver in the same shopping center for fried turkeys. Jubilee is a seafood restaurant. Both are very good but for different reasons.
