Great little spot for some sushi, gyoza and beer

Food is OK but the restaurant is tiny, service is average and the reservation / walk-in “system†is bad.

This place is described on the window as an 居酒屋 (izakaya, a type of Japanese restaurant), but I think it's more of a bar (with some bar food). The staff is friendy. De Japanner is the second branch of Izakaya (the first branch is in De Pijp). Expect a young and yuppie crowd. Good place for drinking, but the beer selection is minimal, however. Nice place for a few drinks with friends. If you look for good and authentic Japanse restaurant, I would suggest to look further.

Food was very good and the service is very friendly. The food alone would be a five-star-rating. But the prices are a bit high and on top of that the restroom was a mess. The restroom normal is not an indicator for my restaurant experience but it was very small and dirty which made me second guess the hygiene.

Came here for a late bite to eat. The food was lovely, drinks plentiful and the staff were friendly. Only a limited number of options (especially if you're veggie) but it was quite, which is what I needed.

Tapas-style goodness that's served super-fast but tastes slow-cooked.

It's a very cute place with friendly service and delicious lunch.

Interesting concept but no dish that I will remember tomorrow. I would still recommend it for the experience and the variety of the menu. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere very nice!

If you don't want to be hungry after leaving you have to spend a lot of money.

Food is good but overpriced. Small portions. Lukewarm service.

Fantastic Japanese in west Amsterdam. Small and vibrant atmosphere. Great gin and topics too. Really worth the commute!

Good food. Small dishes. Nice cocktails and a bustling crowd.

They have vegan options! We had the vegan Chicken Bao (bun with vegan chicken), the waiter mentioned they had the vegan option, it was not on the menu. The Kimchi Dumplings were great!! Also the Mushrooms were really tasty. One big con: the music was really loud, the level where you have to shout in each others' ears to hear each other. And maybe a bit pricey.Still 4/5, would recommend :)
