Japanese-Style Dining & Bar Nishijin

Great little spot for some sushi, gyoza and beer

Food is OK but the restaurant is tiny, service is average and the reservation / walk-in “system” is bad.

This place is described on the window as an 居酒屋 (izakaya, a type of Japanese restaurant), but I think it's more of a bar (with some bar food). The staff is friendy. De Japanner is the second branch of Izakaya (the first branch is in De Pijp). Expect a young and yuppie crowd. Good place for drinking, but the beer selection is minimal, however. Nice place for a few drinks with friends. If you look for good and authentic Japanse restaurant, I would suggest to look further.
