Home Republic Brewing Co. is a locally owned brewpub at the Oceanfront. After serving 20 years in the Marine Corps, Joe wanted to open a place with "great beer, drinks, and food -- that feels like home." And, that's what he did! With a scratch kitchen, on-site brewing, and full bar, we are happy to have been a part of Virginia Beach since June 2014! Our mission is to make every customer feel at home by sharing our passion for good beer, craft cocktails, and food. In addition to serving our own beer, brewed on-site, we have a full bar with craft cocktails. Our food is upscale Americana that is made with a passion and commitment to quality dining.

Great wine selection and good beers. I’m a wine girl so I stuck to those. Delicious Gouda fries ! Omg mouth watering. Very very friendly staff- The manager is so kind and helpful.

I really wanted to give Home Republic a better score based upon their story. The food was excellent. Had a burger that was cooked perfectly. Fries were spot on. Service a little slow but otherwise good. I’m guessing they probably didn’t expect to be slammed off season. They were out of several of their tap offerings. I live in New England. I can drive an hour in any direction and run into dozens of breweries serving up amazing, juicy, hop bomb New England IPA’s. And Home Republics version simply isn’t close.

The food was great but the service was not so great. We sat at the bar which was our mistake. The bartender seemed to not know what she was doing and often forgot we were there. When she finally took our order I also ordered a drink. What she brought me was no where near what I ordered. Needless to say I will definitely go back but I’ll try for a different server.
