This is a small coastal themed .. Gilligan Island feel restaurant setting. It is nestled by it's shaded Florida canopy. The parking is suitable for capacity. You enter off of Howard. It can be easily overlooked (it has been there five years). The food leans toward a fresh vegetarian taste. You will not find allot of rice in your gumbo..your red beans and rice won't be seasoned with pork. But, the tomato cucumber salad will be fresh and delicious. The bread will be a compliment to your full size fish fillet sandwich (very flavorful and tasty). The pricing is good for the area. It is on the opposite side of the street from Eli's. Just a tad bit west ..up the street from the Skinner crossing on the Pinnellas Trail. It is owned by a retired military Veteran. They are welcoming. We thank them for their service. Try it

I expected great food when I read the menu and read the reviews so I was very disappointed. I tried the crabcakes and gumbo soup. I did not expect chicken gumba at this place because I thought I was seafood. Soup was not taste, not cajun style. The crab cakes was missing some and bit small for the price. Publix crab cakes are better and chesper. We paid $25 for lunch and was disappointed.

Amazing food with all outdoor seating out of what looks like a bayou shack. Had the Po'Boys, gumbo, and hush puppies and it was all excellent. The selection of Abita craft beer also rocks. Will 100% be back!

This place is awesome. Great ambiance with old-timey New Orleans jazz and zydeco playing in the background. The place has outdoor seating only and it’s basically a glorified food truck, but don’t let that put you off. The staff is friendly, the food from the limited menu is tasty, and the entire experience is just downright fun. I highly recommend a cup of the gumbo, and hush puppies with remoulade. Oh and there are only two final words you need to read in this review: Crawfish. Sausage.

Really good gumbo and alligator (fried and blackened). Reasonable prices and super friendly staff. The dining is outdoors. One of the best places in Dunedin

Want a taste of New Orleans cuisine,? Look no further. This is an absolutely delightful food shack. Sit-down dining is available on brightly colored picnic tables. After you place your order in the window, the owner brings personally brings out your delicious lunch. The gumbo is really delicious! Try the Cajun shrimp po boy as well.

My family is from New Orleans where I grew up in the restaurant business, so I tend to judge cajun/creole restaurants pretty harshly. But folks this place is legit! Genuine muffaletta bread from La., corn meal in the batter for the shrimp and oysters on poboys, red beans and gumbo as good or better than many places back in NOLA. $4 Abita beers and dog friendly - I'll be back!

Found this hidden little gem driving to work one day, had no idea it had been there for 4 years. Had the chicken/sausage gumbo with bread just like they serve in NOLA. They even sell Abita, Very friendly staff. -Will go back soon.

Food wasn't bad, a tad bit too shy with seasonings, Gumbo didn't have a memorable flavor. I will try them again to see if it was just a bad day 🤷🏿‍♂️

Happy's Bayou is our neighborhood Key West. Nothing fancy about this place, with that being said it's perfect. The Gumbo and Po Boy's are the two things, everyone will recommend. Owners are genuinely kind and show passion for their business and regular patrons. Beach shells cover the ground under brightly painted chairs & tables. Large trees provide shade to sit under and enjoy the food, cold beer and live music. My fried catfish Po Boy is ready and beer is starting to sweat. Gotta run. Cheers 🍺

Been wanting to stop by Happy’s for some time now as I’m always passing through the area. Finally did and have probably been back 4-5 times in the last few weeks alone! Great Food, service, atmosphere. They’ve god it. Best Oyster Po Boy since my trip to NOLA.

Been here one time. Outdoor seating. I had a blackened catfish poboy and a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. I'd definitely get a cup of gumbo again. I'd come here again if I'm in the area and try some more items. Guy playing guitar was good too.
