Such a hidden gem in Upper Dupont. One of the below the radar places for Bistro Italian in DC proper. This is a nice independently-run restaurant. Owner Dino Tapper took over the reigns of Floriana from his mother (who's 1st name is the name of the venue), and has continued the success of restaurant. ** FOOD **: Rustic Italian. Their in-house Pastas especially are quite good, but the other entree dishes aren't slouches (such as Muscovy Duck Breast, Pan-Seared Salmon, or Sea Scallops). There's winners on each dining course. Plating and service here is quite good as well. Entree prices vary between $19 - upper 20s. There should be enough options for all. ** SPACE **: Converted older row house, quite homey ... some say a great relaxed romantic place.

Not bad. Service was great and so were the drinks. Food was underwhelming a bit. Tasted good, although my duck was a bit salty, but just lacking some punch.

While visiting DC on a Saturday, we found this place with high ratings online. Nothing prepared us for what we experienced. The service was great and the prices for brunch were amazing. It was a romantic scene with a fireplace and elegant decor. The food was delicious and choices hard to pick from. The cocktails kept flowing.....

We had a lovely dinner here. It feels very independent and love-worn, the service was wonderful - Rishard our waiter was full of passion and knowledge about the menu - we did ask for greens with our mains and that got forgotten but the ambience was good enough to let it slide. It was lovely to see full LGBTQIA+ representation across the staff and it was a memorable evening. We left feeling full and content. Definitely go here and put your money into a gay indie restaurants - screw those chains! X

I lived in Rome for one year so a generally have high expectations about Italian restaurants. I went there for the first time yesterday and I was agreeably surprised. Cute and cost ambiance. Good service. food food. Highly recommend the duck carbonara and the octopus.

Went here on a business citytrip with my husband and daughter, and if you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine: Floriana definitely is the place to be! Excellent food and excellent staff. Staff was very nice and the gnocchi with squid ink was amazing!

Very good food. 4 stars because the tables a little close together, I could hear everything my neighbors were saying. Service was attentive and nice.

My grandmother took our family out to dinner here for a nice holiday meal tonight. The food was incredible, some of the best calamari I've ever had. The wait staff was very nice, quick friendly service. However, the manager was horrible. He came up before our food came out to say hello and began telling a story about his wait staff. He mentioned that one of his italian waiters didn't do side tasks and proceeded to say that "I didnt know that all Italians were lazy." My family has Italian heritage and we did not take kindly to his words. My father was turning red in frustration from the incident. We may return for the food but if we see that manager again we will take our business elsewhere.
