First Mile Kitchen

The food was absolutely amazing! We travel a lot and dine out quite frequently, even locally, and this is the BEST meal we have had in recent memory. Starters: meatballs and sourdough bread-truly got the meal kicked off right. My braised short ribs (seasonal) was unbelievable, Brussel sprouts (I’m a connoisseur) were so ridiculously good. My husband had steak frites, and was impressed with how tender the meat was. Drinks were great as well; I had the Apple Cinnamon Martini, and Chris had a Coal Fashion made at the table. We will definitely keep this place on our regular rotation. Bravo! 👏🏼 Our server, Yannic, was top-notch, he truly has it down.

I'm so glad I stopped in for the eggshop takeover! I got a signed cookbook from the owner Nick Korbee, I'm excited to see what's inside. My chicken sandwich and truffle fries was absolutely delicious!!

Brunch was very good - particularly the pancakes, which were the best I've had so far. Dinner is also quite good.

Found this restaurant while staying in Wichita and so glad we did! Service, food, and atmosphere were all great! We ordered the first mile pancakes and the bacon egg biscuit. The pancakes were divine! While I really liked the biscuit, I thought it could use an improvement. We both thought that all ingredients together made it a bit dry and it would have benefitted from some kind of sauce or honey. While it says it has honey, you couldn’t taste it or see it, so it wasn’t enough. I would suggest ordering a side of honey for it. I even thought a honey chipotle sauce might be tasty. Either way, we would order both again! Give this place a shot if you’re in the area!

The First Mile Kitchen has continued to please these two food snobs. Most Wichita restaurants have disappointed us with inconsistent food quality, preparation, and service. The First Mile has been on point each time we patronize their business.

Very cozy, warm and inviting, and the food is fantastic

2nd visit and all very good. This restaurant is impeccably clean and both times the staff was very helpful and we were well attended too.

Paul was amazing, he took care of our every need and we never had to ask for a single thing.

Hidden gem! Loved everything from there so far and never had to wait for a table. Favorites so far: POG juice, the Breakfast Tartine (get the chili sauce on the side if you don’t love spicy), the Flying Breakfast Burrito Bros, pistachio danish. Service was wonderful every time.

What a great gem for Wichita! High quality food and drinks! Cool to see the open fire and the chef at work! Bar is huge and the tunes were on point for a fun evening!!

Updated 5/15* Relaxed experience-sat at the bar* I had a watermelon margarita ( it has a name, but I had 2...oops!) with jalapeño and black salt, perfection for the day* Delicious cocktails from mixologist Trevor Chelsea the bartender was a joy* James came out for a great chat about pancakes, and yes, the best I have had since Sunday in New York (in Brooklyn NY)...outstanding!* Attentive service, and the servers were hustling and on point* Serene minimalist decor...well lit and open, beautiful in the daylight and an outdoor space looks quite welcoming* Those pancakes....daaammmmnnn!!!
