The legendary history of Diorio Restaurant began in the early 1920’s. The late Rocco Diorio was responsible for the fine traditional food and many lasting memories for most of the people in the greater Waterbury area. The restaurant was closed in 1980 and reopened in 1991 after total restoration to its original splendor. The legend continues as we remain true to those endearing memories. We have the original marble bar, oversized mahogany bankers booths, tin ceiling and the most impressive acid etched mirrors displaying historical Waterbury. We also offer private and semiprivate dining spaces for corporate or private functions. Diorio Restaurant has once again reclaimed the reputation as Waterbury’s finest. It’s ambience, memories, history, and Northern Italian Nouvelle cuisine supply a new and exciting dining experience for the adventuresome palate.

I eat in this spot a lot since I work in the area. I like how their customer service is always fantastic and they keep the spot neat consistently. Pricing is convenient and they serve large portions.

One of Waterbury's few surviving fine dining restaurants. Attached to a hotel, but leagues better than most hotel restaurants. A bit pricey, but the quality of the food and prompt service help make up for the high cost. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something on the fancier side.

Had a birthday lunch there for a coworker. The food was wonderful, the service excellent, everyone loved their meal. One person of our group salmon wasn't cooked enough, she had it sent back. She got a whole new dish with the salmon cooked perfect. The atmosphere is classy & relaxing. We plan on going back for the deserts which looked amazing.
