Both the service and food were outstanding! The peach appetizer melted in my mouth. The lobster risotto was amazing. Everything I tried was excellent.

A magical little escape from the crowds in Edgartown. Beautiful quiet garden. Personal, attentive service. Tables well spaced. The food and wine list were amazing. Highly recommend for a date night.

Detente is a wonderful gem of a restaurant tucked into a corner of Nevin Square in Edgartown. We had dinner there on Saturday and it was wonderful. Service was attentive and our waitress was very helpful with wine selection. The menu is small but offers something for all tastes. Also many of the appetizers can be doubled to be an entree. Food was delicious and the presentation was lovely without being fussy. I had the cod - amen. Splurged and had dessert - blueberry buttermilk bread pudding. Amazing! Go to Detente!

Nice place and good service. The food was okay but not is expensive and wasn't really worth it. We didn't like the octopus, you could only taste char and the tomatoes in the panzanella were not ripe. Lobster risotto was also not very good, beets were the only thing with flavor and it didn't really seem to mesh well with the lobster. Beef was good, cooked well and the vegetable was yummy

Best meal we had in Edgartown though we had many excellent dining experiences.. We loved this place. The food was just excellent and the service was impeccable and personal also. Eat here if you can!

Enjoyed our wedding anniversary at Detente. The best pork chop and chicken we ever had. The chef is a genius.

I told my bartender, "if I were on death row, and my last meal came up for question, the steak Trio would be my choice. I hope I got the name right. Three different cuts of steak, a fried green tomato, and some shallots I think. I wish I had taken the picture before I took a bite. I don't know if it's still this way but if you get to the bar right after the place opens, you get half off your drinks, or entree. I have problems with my memory due to an illness so I apologize. All I know is the food was to die for!

This was the cutest little wine bar. It was right in the heart of Edgartown. The bar tender was really knowledgeable and very friendly. Very cool laid back vibe at the bar. Not at all pretentious .
