Located in an immaculately restored Victorian brownstone in the popular River North neighborhood, visiting Chicago Chop House is like taking a step into the city's colorful past. More than 1400 historical photos tell the tale of old Chicago when meat-packers, politicians, and gangsters vied for control. We also offer the taste of a true Chicago steakhouse. Our awe-inspiring 42-oz porterhouse, 16- and 24-oz New York Strips and 24-oz prime rib are all served charred and bursting with prime-aged flavor. We only offer USDA Prime steaks that we hand-cut on the premises.

[Dined here Dec. 24th, 2019]The Chicago Chop House is Chicagoland's tier one steakhouse. My family and I had an incredible Christmas Eve dinner here, and I cannot decide which I enjoyed more: the food or the ambiance. While the meat products are clearly of a high caliber (I strongly recommend either the Tomahawk Ribeye or the Petite NY Strip), it was the side dishes that really sealed the deal for me.Be certain to try the truffle mac and cheese, steamed spinach, or any of the seafood options should you visit the Chop House!

My wife and I had an excellent experience! Our server, Todd, helped us to understand the options and select two very good meals. We also found the perfect wine for the steaks, a St. Francis Merlot 2008. Overall excellent meal and experience... we will definitely be back!

Traveled the world, eaten at some of the top spots in the US - this is by far the best traditional steak house there is.If you want the best steak and are in Chicago, make it a point to eat here.
