Korean-based menu but modernized so the patrons are on the younger side. The galbi jjim is a generous cauldron of about 6 meaty short ribs with glass noodles, rice balls, dates, mushrooms and truffle oil (!). It was delicious but salty. The crispy tofu bites are ok. Probably wouldn’t get them again. The hostess is terrific and even though I was dining alone, she offered me a choice of a table or high top in the back. It was busy and she sat me right away. Appreciate!

Gret service, super friendly. Food made carefully with good presentation. The flavours were separate with right level of quantity and proportion. Really good! To be tested...

We ordered a few items from the menu. Everything was scrumptious. We all shared so we were able to sample all this. The crispiness of the wings are just right.😉😋

Bibimbap was fresh and complex in flavor (seafood) and the hotpot (seafood as well) was incredible and very spicy . Japanese whisky was served (neat), and we closed with nap buns (beef) that capped off an incredible meal. Service was attentive, the hostess was friendly (even if stressed!) and the vibe was perfect. Will definitely return.

Unreal Korean food. The NYC bits are fantastic, smokey, marinated goodness. Bustling place, loud but not to be missed

This place was awesome! I had always been skeptical of tapas because I prefer larger portion orders, but the dishes were absolutely delicious and were a lot of fun to share. Great Korean food and the drinks were creative as well. The service was friendly and it was a great place for a dinner with friends. Nice cozy environment. ~10% off your bill if you pay in cash too.

This place is a gem. The way they fry things here is akin to magic. My daughter is addicted!

Good Korean food, nice atmospheres and welcoming staff. Good selection of food options. I had the bulgolgi hot bowl which was yummy.

In New York for quick three days trip, find the restaurant on Yelp so went to check it out. It was great, made reservation through yelp app, made it really easy. My wife and I both order hot stones bowl, and we really enjoy it. Also had the crispy tofu, it was different but delicious! The rice itself is not too heavy on the taste, just right. If you need town and want some Korean food, should pay a visit for sure!

Great service, awesome atmosphere, and really good food! I had the soy garlic chicken wings with truffle fries and they were amazing! I did order the chicken katsu and I didn’t like the flavors, it wasn’t what I was expecting and I can be pretty picky but they substituted more wings for me and I really appreciated it. My friend had the chili garlic shrimp and really liked that too! Thanks Barn Joo!

My sister and I were able to add ourselves to the waiting list through the app, which was great because we were able to be seated almost immediately. It was PACKED on a Tuesday night, so I'd suggest checking in online regardless of whether it's a weekday or weekend. The restaurant was very loud inside, but decorated nicely and the staff was friendly as well. We ordered steamed pork dumplings to start that were flavorful and the perfect texture (also the sauce was delicious). We also decided on the bulgogi hot stone bowl and the chicken hot stone bowl. Both tasted great! The meat was tender and full of flavor and went so well with the rest of the veggies that come in the bowl.We ended our meal with some cheesecake for dessert. It was a bit more savory than I am typically used to, but it went perfectly with the fruit and ice cream that it is served with! I would definitely come back.

One of my favorite restaurants in manhattan!! I’ve been twice and tried a good bit of the tapas menu. The rice cake and cheese sounds weird but it is SO GOOD. Also the bulgogi is super tender and flavorful. The cocktails aren’t super strong but they’re delicious- fun blends like soju, lychee, st germain, and oj. Super affordable too, like my meal was $20 before drinks and tip.

It feels like every dish at Barn Joo has been crafted with thoughtfulness. Every dish bursts with depth of flavor. It’s a great chill and intimate vibe. The process of getting a table was very seamless- we put our names down on Yelp and barely had a wait. Service was attentive and done with kindness. Every time we have come here we have never been disappointed. Would highly recommend for any occasion, if a friend is visiting New York or if you’re new to Korean food.

It was busy Friday and Saturday so to avoid waiting I suggested to make reservations.
