Poutine. Who knew? I spoke with Tom, one of the owners, and I asked him how they came up with such a successful concept, seemingly out of the blue. They had worked for other restaurants that offered poutine on the menu, which went over decently except for the Canadians that tried it. So Tom, Matt and Adam went on a whirlwind tour of Canada, each of them eating 36 servings of poutine over a few days. They made notes about what they liked and what they didn't, and came up with the recipe they use today. It's brilliant, and there is something here for just about anyone. Highly recommended.

Interesting little place that serves up sausages, sliders and, poutine with a nice little beer/wine store attached to it.The food was delicious and the service was pretty good, I was just a bit weirded out by my corn dog; it tasted great but looked like something you'd visit a urologist about.

Good poutine. Would have liked my fries to be a bit more cooked. Will try and see how if it's better or worse next time.

Excellent food and beer selection! It's like the unholy trinity of gluttony: poutine, sausages, and beer all in one cozy place!

I have never been to this place on the west side Cleveland. But this review is for this chain at the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights. Great variety of poutine to choose from along with other American side dishes and wine to sip in the evening!

Great selection of beers. Had the Heritage Pork poutine and Venison sausage, both excellent with great attention to detail. Very good service. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Awesome little poutine shop. The variety and quality is outstanding, and great vibes. Also, the beer and wine selection is vast and diverse. A must for all Clevelanders and anyone visiting the area!

Their poutines are very good! Drove from Detroit just to try them. And they along with several other options on menu made it well worth the trip.

Questions & Answers

We have a black bean sausage that you can substitute for the kielbasa. We have a large vegetarian and vegan selection of items (including poutine!), though that is the only sausage that could be substituted for that dish. Feel free to call if you have additional questions.

On average around $12, the portions are a good size for the price.

It was abandoned for a long time (10+ years) before Banter. According to some, before that it was a laundromat or a bar.
