Yupdduk specializes in making spicy rice cakes (떡볶이; tteokbokki). If you want really good tteokbokki for a group of friends, or even you and a significant other, this is the place to go. There isn't a lot of variety on their menu but what they do have, they make sure to prepare it well.

I love their food - Yupdduk is my soul food! Rice cakes are deliciously cooked & their sides are yummy too! It takes a while for the food to come out & they are usually understaffed. They also occassionally smoke in the front so if you get a door seat, you can smell it sometimes :( but they are still friendly and welcoming to regulars!

First time here and it was Great! The mild was a little spicier than expected but overall a great experience trying rice cakes for the first time.

This place takes spicy to the supreme level. It is very spicy but delicious.

Food is good but the spice level on the menu is misleading. We ordered 0 Level Spice expecting no spice. The chili depicted at this level is white and not shaded in. When we got the food it was bright red and loaded with chili powder and we could not eat it in the restaurant as it was way too spicy. We had to save it for home and eat it over the next few days mixed in with other food to tone down the spice.

If you can handle your spice this id the place for you. Everything tasted very good, and prices were reasonable.

Their ddukbboki used to be spicier, but now it just tastes like garlic. I think the quality of the food dropped since it first opened.

No air conditioning when their specialty is spicy food. Went for the 2nd time to see if their quality and taste was better. Better than the first (no sour rice cake) but can make better at home. Cheap eats though.

Came with friends.Super nice food and service. Just to mention that the food is really spicy if you choose degree 2 or up. Try the lower levels if you are a beginner.

Small diner-type place. Parked on the street next to condos. Menu is small but for good reason: Tteokbokki is their specialty. Portions are to be shared and are pretty large. We were there at 8pm on a Saturday and they were out of their chicken main and dumplings appetizers.Spice level is from 0-3. Two of us got level 1 and the rest of is got level 3. 3 is quite spicy but I have a high tolerance; those with level 1 were sweating!Really enjoyed this place. It was full of Koreans and we went here specially because one of our party is from Korea and she recommended it.

Really yummy soup, super spicy even level one. If you don't do well with spice I wouldn't recommend getting it spicy. If you're someone who loves spicy it's definitely an adventure and the flavor is really great. I would rate it 5 star if the service was a little better!
