We have lived in the Lehigh Valley for nearly 20 years, and I'm sorry to say it is taken us this long to try Youell's. We found the food to be excellent and the service to be friendly, prompt, and accurate. It is not an inexpensive place, but the prices are not outrageous either. They have a good selection of fresh east coast oysters displayed. Nice place.

Great atmosphere, the best seafood in the valley and they will host private events as well! 5 star is exactly what this establishment deserves!

Tonight was our first time there. We enjoyed the food and the service was good as well. First round of drinks took a little while to arrive but they made up for that. All in all it was a good night out with friends.

We tried this out last weekend. The seafood was top notch. The crab cakes were excellent. No filler and all lump crab meat. They were succulent with just the right amount of moisture in a crab cake for my taste. I have had many different crab cakes and these are the best I have tasted. Delicious. The New England clam chowder was very good with large pieces of clam meat. The fish and shrimp was also good. Overall we had a great dining experience. The desserts were ok, but nothing stand out. The next time we go we will have the crab cakes and clam chowder and skip dessert.

The Bay Leaf is my favorite restaurant in the Lehigh Valley. Haven't eaten at the Edge but hit the Cafe and The Apollo. The service was excellent. Seemed as if there were only two men working together as the waiters, bussers and bartender, they did an excellent job w/ prompt service for just having them two work the dining room.

Excellent service. Drinks were well made. Oysters were very good. Oyster bisque was mediocre. Too salty and a little thin. Salads were fine but nothing special. Seafood entrees were excellent.

Looks better than it tastes. I ordered the fried combination. ALL of the meats were very unseasoned. I honestly thought I was eating fried water. The best thing I ate from the platter was the squash medley and the side of browned butter. I was totally surprised and upset

The buck a Schick at the bar was great!!! Very fresh oysters. The lobster tails were tasty and perfectly prepared. While it is not inexpensive it is very good quality seafood.

I'm a super foodie person and truly enjoyed the meal I got here! I got the broiled seafood platter number two. It had African lobster tail scallops shrimp and crab with oven browned potatoes and veggies. The meal was excellent I had a martini from the bar. And was able to get a reservation on same day notice for the time I wanted. I would recommend that if you are a seafood lover, this is your spot!

Questions & Answers

Street parking in a residential neighborhood. You’ll get a spot within half a city block or usually closer. We get some comments about the parking, but it’s much better than downtown Allentown, Bethlehem or Easton or walking 50 yards in a shopping center.

This place is incredible

Most cases . Yes !

I'm not really sure.. Ive only been there twice. Both times that I've gone I didn't have my kids. It's very elegant there. I would say more of a date night

The Allentown restaurant opened in 1992 to compliment the original Easton location. Prior to Youell’s in Allentown it was The Florentine Inn, The Sirloin Pub, The Ivanhoe, and Hemerly’s beginning in the 1800’s. It was a stage coach stop on Reading Road and had a boarding house next door for travelers.
