Yardbird Table & Bar

Went for my birthday. Everything was great ( chicken, braised short ribs). But the deviled eggs were not. Dill and salt were the dominant taste. No sweetness at all. Very pretty presentation but it's a no on the taste. Not traditional. The fried green tomatoes were good and I HATE ALL TOMATOES but these I would eat again. The place is gorgeous. We sat upstairs. There is a beautiful private eating area for 2 people elevated by itself. Overall great place and will be back

The food was fantastic. The atmosphere elegante but homey. But what really made this place pop was the service! From the drinks provided by the bar, our water glasses were never empty, the staff even at the end of a long day seemed genuinely glad to have us there. Our server Jennifer was FANTASTIC! A true gem. Everytime we come back to Chicago we will be asking to sit at Jennifer's tables.

After reading all the stellar reviews on the OpenTable app we went for Brunch on Easter and ordered the eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits. Food lacked salt, flavor and was cold in temperature. We ordered the shrimp and grits because the waiter said “Our shrimp and grits are what we’re known for! They’re award-winning!” Only to be WILDLY disappointed by the total lack of flavor and extremely small portion size. The grits were about the size of an ice cream scoop and there were 4 large shrimp….for nearly $30. The Eggs Benedict came with 2 bricks of hash browns that tasted like nothing sprinkled with nothing. These were also very cold. There were no parts of the meal my partner and I could truly say we enjoyed. Furthermore, we were given an Easter egg upon arrival that contained a card that stated “Complimentary dessert… valid through April 28”. We tried to redeem it but we were told it’s only valid upon our NEXT visit. GREAT -_- . Our waiter was lack luster and we had to awkwardly request a table change 3xs after the host repeatedly chose seating options that were exactly the opposite of my request (not by the front door because it’s cold). This place looks good on Instagram but certainly not worth the $100 visit.

Super sad with our experience. The food that we were served, was great. However, some food items were left off. The service was the worst. The server told us the items were taken off but, they were not. Drinks were not refilled. When our main dish was brought out. I asked for the server to wait to open so that my daughter could see her food. He just opened it and walked away. She didn't get to see the experience of the smoke from her food. We also had to wait forever for a check just to even let them know that we didn't get some food items. They also force add the tip. I am a very good tiper and I would have given more if the service was worth it. However I feel that because they know they are guaranteed a tip they don't worry about good service. Which is sad because the food was good but, I will not be back!

We came here for the chicken and waffles since we loved it when we had it at their other two locations (Miami & Vegas). I feel like the other two locations are better. The food still taste the same but I don’t remember it being this expensive. $42 for some chicken and waffles is outrageous. The breakfast burn ends was good but the portion is small. The drinks are minimum $18. CRAZY. I don’t like how they automatically add 20% gratuity. What if the service was trash? They still get 20%?

I first went to the one in Vegas and FELL IN LOVE. This one is not that one. The drinks were comparable to any other restaurant downtown (unimpressed), the food was plated exquisitely (well done), and the service was ok (forgettable for sure).

The food and ambience were wonderful, as usual, but the service was terrible this time. Jamie was rude to my husband from the start once he nicely reminded her of the lemons he requested. Also, neither my daughter nor I received plates for our food! When we were done, I let Jamie know we were ready, and 15 minutes later (after she tended to the people on either side of us), we requested to-go boxes from the bus person. She was neither attentive nor friendly. We'll go back, but will sit at the bar (as we've done in the past), where the service is always stellar.

Excellent customer service from symone, Dishann, and Vanessa! 3 very valuable workers that created a fantastic experience for me. Thank you guys again! Will definitely be back just for the service alone.

Food and cocktails were superb! Service was fast and the whole restaurant is very cool.

First, the decor and ambiance is really nice. Not super upscale, just tasteful and warm. Also functional decor, not just IG worthy decorations. I tried the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, deviled eggs, and friend green tomatoes. The waiter, Jennifer, did a great job letting us know how the food would differ from traditional or home cooked flavors, but it was all very good. When you expect an elevated or new take on well known dishes, you can enjoy the dish for what it is. I loved it ALL. Also the cocktails were tasty, and the blueberry bourbon lemonade was just strong enough. Yardbird is on par with other restaurants you’d find downtown. I’ll be going back.

Esthetically, the restaurant is elegant, large, and did boast a second floor. I attended with a party of 11, and we were seated promptly. The fact that the restaurant is called Yard Bird, you know that the chicken would be flavorful. The yard bird appetizer wings were magnifique!! The CHICKEN AND WAFFLES were also a MUST TRY. I originally wanted the 1/2 rotisserie, but they were out. I was so disappointed!! You're a chicken restaurant.🤦🏾‍♀️ So I had the salmon. Don't waste your time ordering that. However, go for the chicken and waffles, the braised short rib, or the ribs. Talk about a party in your mouth. The keylime cheesecake was also a favorite at our table. You won't go wrong ordering the chicken. STAY AWAY from the lobster mac n cheese!! You pay MP (Market Price), so the dish was $75. It looks pretty but not worth the money. It was lacking in flavor.

Listen, let’s be honest, chicken is bland & boring and making chicken taste good is difficult. The food really was very good, the kitchen did a great job. The decor is fantastic, and the ambiance is great even if somewhat loud - it’s so busy In the restaurant it can be hard to hear someone across the table from you. That said, the prices are high and while the portions are generous, for what we got I feel the value was a bit lacking. Service was not on point, but 20% was automatically added to the bill (which might explain the poor service, as the servers are pretty much guaranteed and income irrespective) I’m glad I went, the dishes were great, but for $100 per person you can do pretty well elsewhere in the city.

We went here with friends and had heard so much about this place. But it was a disappointment! The service was bad, the food was mostly average, the drinks were not good and on top of the our bill was 300$ for 5 people, so very expensive. The only good thing was the vibe and the meringue, which fell off our pancakes, before the server got it to the table. Overall, never going here again!

Food was delicious. We went on a Saturday night, very busy place which is a good sign for any business. Service started out extremely slow but then our waiter Marcus made up for it by providing us with the best attention and service ever! He made great suggestions and was very polite and charismatic. Highly recommend.

Service was friendly and even the blackened salmon was really good ! They offer $10 voucher for 4 hours of parking at public garage next door
