My girlfriend and I have been going here for years, decades in fact. Today we went in for congee and the servers were a bit abrasive which was a bit odd but we didn’t think much of it. After we finished our meal the server brought our bill and began to berate us that next time we can’t dine in if that’s all we’re going to order. She returned and shoved the menu in our faces pointing her finger at the bottom of the menu where it said 10$ per person minimum. Now they could have just as easily charged me the 10$ per person and I wouldn’t have cared, but instead we were very rudely chastised. It’s a shame the quality of service is so poor but I guess this will give us an opportunity to explore other restaurants as we will not be returning or recommending Yangtze to anyone anymore.

Come here only if you are willing to accept quantity over quality. In my family’s humble opinion, the dim sum here is not refined nor that tasty. We found the texture of the steamed rice rolls and the skin of the “har gao” (prawn dumpling) too thick and sticky. For the former, the “char siew” within was only average. I would say the saving grace of our meal was the simple plate of “chye sim” stirfried with garlic. Apart from one of the waitresses who kindly helped to cut some food into smaller pieces with her scissors so my mum could eat it, the majority of the staff we encountered had a “couldn’t care less” attitude.

Pleasantly surprised. Food was not too salty and did not leave me chasing for water. Mapo Tofu was a must have!
