not a tourist trap

A wonderful meal centered around mountain yam (a.k.a. nagaimo or tororo). Terrific soba with tororo, yam "steak" with miso paste, and yam/satsuma dumpling. Good selection of sake to accompany your meal. A must-eat if you're in the area.

This is a great place to experience the local specialty: the tororo yam.

The food here will be for an acquired taste. But you should still come for the experience and the great view. The restaurant shop front is not particularly appealing and looks like a shed. But once you enter and walk down to the restaurant, you will be amazed by the picturesque view. Do try to make a reservation before coming for lunch. The hotel concierge should be able to help. We did not and have to wait about 25mins...a side note...parking is limited but it seems you can park your car at the seven eleven stall nearby. And by the way I highly recommend a visit to the seven eleven stall. A surreal setting of a seven eleven stall overlooking the mountainous terrain of hakone. And the stall is well stocked and very well maintained.

Nice restaurant to visit, having a very good view and good service.Food is really unique, I rate the taste as above average, cannot say it is very good. But if you like yam, it worth a try.

Totally recommend, healthy food

Local restaurant that has a very unassuming entrance. Food specialises in yams, and so options beyond that are limited. Kids had the roast pork and rice and loved it

A place worth visit for a healthy and filling breakfast which food only can be seen here.

It is near the intersection in Miyanoshita. The store where the parking lot is located is small and looks like a dugout hut, but don't worry. There are stairs to enter the store. When you go down the stairs, a fairly large store will appear. All the okaz, of course, are very delicious, not to mention the trolley, as it is the supreme lunch. It's like having the ultimate breakfast in the morning, so if you have the chance, I'd love to eat it.
