Highly recommend!Not just typical “I’m from Ukraine, so can cook Ukrainian food” kind of a place. Food is just delicious and the service is excellent.

The vibe, staff and food are great. One of the servers (blond/white haired male) was absolutely top notch in service.We had the smorgasbord and the special egg sandwich. The smorgasbord was absolutely delicious which we washed down with a couple of the IPAs and lagers. The service was attentive without being intrusive and would recommend anyone in the neighbourhood to visit this joint.

Our service wasn’t great at all, it was almost like they wanted to be rude to us? It was kind of the diner feel you want though, in a strange funny way? For sure strange though. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Also open 24/7 what a steal

This place is super cozy and special. The pierogis and stroganoff was delicious accompanying the beet salad. We also had an authentic Ukrainian dessert that was not too sweet and was a perfect finisher to our brunch. Definitely will be back.

The homestyle dinner I had here was fantastic. The "Bibos" (kielbasa with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and onions) was hearty and delicious! The plate of blintzes was also lovely, although a little expensive. I spent $50 for an appetizer, an entree, and a beer, so it wasn't as affordable as I'd hoped, but I'll definitely be back, especially given their 24/7 hours. Pro tip: the in-house restaurant menu does not have pictures, but the online menu does, in case you'd like to take a look at the Ukrainian dishes you're considering.

Very good place if you are looking for tasty authentic Eastern European cuisine. I spent Christmas Eve 2018 here and it reminded me about my origins. Staff was great. Gets packed, with queues outside - this means how popular and delicious this restaurant is. Vast variety of dishes. From soups...main course... snacks and cakes... thanks for making my time here wonderful experience.

If you are like my east Europe friends love meat more than anything else, then this place is for you! Big variety of sides adds more flavor to every dish. If you are there for the first time get a combo and be prepared to leave very full.

I come to Veselka every time I visit New York City, and it's always worth the voyage. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is a typical lively NYC establishment that wants you to enjoy your meal. The perogis are LEGENDARY and I never leave without a smile and a full belly.

Not 100 percent traditional ukrainian, but delicious nonetheless. They definitely have a cool take on borscht.

Stunning authenticity. Heart warming waitstaff. THE BEST cheesecake in New York.. north America... Possibly the world. The level of craftsmanship on the cheesecake is out of this world. From the future and the past all at once. I ordered the anniversary pierogi plate and it was excellent. Would recommend matzo ball soup too.

Yummy Ukrainian comfort food that is always open. This place in an institution and does not disappoint. A definite must try for locals and tourists. The service was great and the place is clean though the seating is a little tight.

It was not great but it wasn't bad at all. I didn't enjoy their sandwiches which I thought it was to dry and way overcooked. I tried the pierogi, that was the only part that enjoy at least a bit and the beer. The dining room it's crowded with many tables and their illuminations was too bright, far from being cozy. Will I come back to appreciate Ukrainian food? Definitely to see if there is something else that I haven't tasted that could attract me. I would accept any other suggestions about food. Any cuisine it's like an adventure to discover.

Had my bridal shower here and it was absolutely perfect! First of all, the space is so beautiful and doesn't even need any decoration. I worked with Brooke to cover every last detail to set up the layout and make sure the day ran smoothly. She was able to customize the menu to work with our budget and was extremely helpful. Everyone couldn't stop raving about how great the food and service was. Couldn't recommend this place more for hosting events or even just for dinner!

I really wanted to like this place. The service was good for a busy restaurant and I liked the homey decor and overall atmosphere. Maybe I just ordered wrong but I followed the server's recommendation and got the beef stroganoff with a beet and horseradish salad on the side. The stroganoff was just...fine. I could not taste any sour cream and the whole dish was just flat tasting. Salt and pepper didn't help. The beet salad was tasty but a bit on the sweet side so I didn't finish it all. I had peanut butter pie for dessert and it was okay. Tasted like a commercially produced dessert. I would definitely try this place again and get more adventurous with my order.
