Best soup!I was wondering at Otaru in the afternoon and manage to find this place. Is a 5 stars. Staffs are so polite! They have English menu and after your soba, they serve a hot water to mix with your soba soup. They only have one dessert. Soba ice cream!! Serve together with a soba tea! It was so good!! Traditional soba restaurant, grating wasabi first time in my life! Try it with no regrets in Otaru!

This is a traditional Japanese restaurant specializing in Soba. My wife and daughter took it while I ordered Katsedon. We like them, although can't say they are the best we have tried. But the soup, or water, which is leftover from boiling the soba, is very good. Last but not least, we like the traditional setting. The facade is also good for picture taking at night.

Was browsing over google on the highest rated restaurants near Otaru and this one came up on the list. Arrived here at around 11 pm and aside from my family, there was only a local grandma and pa inside. At first I was a bit skeptical since highly rated restaurants in Japan are usually jam-packed at that hour. But the reviews certainly didn't fail me, I ordered the shrimp tempura hot soba and we were given the option of having locally sourced soba noodles or one with flour from USA mixed with it, of course we went with the purely Japanese soba! Taste was great, texture was really al dente, just how I like my noodles. Tempura batter was also great! Definitely a 10/10!

We went to Yabuhan Soba on recommendation by a friend who had been there previously. Didn't disappoint. Thankfully we got in before the dinner crowd. More locals than foreigners, though it did help they some of the waitresses speak basic English, and they have an English menu. They have quite a wide variety of both hot soba and cold Soba, so we had one of each. We had the local Hokkaido Soba (apparently there apparently there 2 choices of Soba for the same dish, the other one being a slightly cheaper imported soba ), was prepared to perfection.

Wonderful soba noodles. It's a very popular restaurant and you may need to wait half an hour for a table but it's definitely worth the wait. There is a beautifully translated English menu including information about the source of ingredients (buckwheat from nearby Rankoshi) and clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options.

Traditionally Soba served in a very traditional looking restaurant. The signature dish here is the cold soba. ***Reminder: Slurp up the soba as loud as possible if you are enjoying it. This is the true Japanese way of showing your appreciation of the good soba served.

Highly recommend the cold soba with jimonoko noodles. Best soba place in Otaru!

If you are a foreigner visiting and have food allergies or limitations, this is by far the best place I've seen in my whole trip. They have a very extensive English menu including how to eat soba noodles if it's your first time. The shop seems quite popular, as there was a line forming at lunch when we went.Every meal in the menu is clearly coded on whether it has soy, gluten or allergens, I don't need it but I commend them for it, only shop I've seen to do that so clearly! The noodles were delicious, had a duck soup and really enjoyed it!

Really delicious handmade soba noodles, both springy and smooth. I like the fact that they include an English how-to-guide on savoring soba noodles. After eating cold soba noodles, drinking a hot soba yu gives a warm fuzzy feeling especially in Hokkaido's cold weather. This place can be a little crowded and one may need to queue for quite some time.

Arrived before the lunch time so I got a table right away, I enjoy my soba but more is tempura.
