Celebrated a big birthday here, and was absolutely thrilled with the food, the service, and the entire evening. Wood Tavern is my to-go spot for special dinners. Not many East Bay restaurants offer service at this level. An evening to remember.

The food is just fabulous. Each time I have been here, the food was excellent. Went with a group of friends last night and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Each person talking about their dish.

Only been here 2x, but it's been amazing each time. The pork entree is incredible. Their charcuterie is also top notch. Chicken liver is AWESOME!! Drinks were great. Love this place and would eat here regularly if I could afford it and lived nearby.

Top notch place for lunch in the Rockridge district. Been here a few times. Consistently great food and service. Was excited to see Spanish Basque region Ameztoi Txakolina as wine of the day.

Nice late lunch spot on President's Day. Beet salad, pastrami sandwich and blue cheese burger all hit the spot!

Service-5, food -3 I ordered the potato leek soup for a starter. It arrived lukewarm and tasted unremarkable. The honey crisp apple and butter leaf lettuce salad was good but the apples were not peeled, which causes me gastric issues. The semolina crusted halibut was a little too spicy for my dining partner. Our server and bus person were great, on top of everything, from water, bread, utensils to the bill. Final take-too much hype, menu is too limited, no true vegan options, better luck elsewhere.

Wood Tavern is our go to spot for special meals. The food is consistently excellent and the staff, from the moment one enters and is greeted by the hosts is professional and warm. I always want to try a new dish, but I can't bear not to order the chicken. They have a full wine list and excellent cocktail menu, too. Been here a few times for dinner and I always enjoy the comfort food here from the Classic Roast Chicken to the rib eye fillet. Also good here are the Niman Ranch Burgers and the pan-fried rock cod sandwich.

Great food, great service. Waited weeks to get a dinner reservation here. Worth the wait. You won't be disappointed.

Luckily we made a reservation on a Thursday because the place was packed! Started with the pumpkin gnocchi with mushrooms and brussel sprouts, which was very savory. Service was good, but they forgot our bread so we didn’t get it until after our first course. Bread was really good though! I got the Alaskan halibut, which was perfectly seared and seasoned, but pretty dry. I preferred my friend’s pork chops which were delicious (it was sitting in a bacon-based sauce which might have helped...) Ended the night with a pear tart paired with a scoop of bourbon ice cream. SO GOOD! Highly recommend. Overall, great dining experience and wish my main course came out better.
