The market is better than any of the surrounding corner convince stores. The cafe is nice with good food options. I don't know why the market door is always locked, you have to enter through the cafe. For a while it seemed like they were never open but I think I was just too early or too late whenever I tried. They open really late for a cafe, they might get the business of the many bus riders waiting just side each morning if they were open.

I live right around the corner from Windows and it is always there when I am in a pinch for something basic or essential and I do not want to have to go out of the neighborhood. Prices are a little higher but that is the price of convenience. The owner and I are very friendly with each other since I am a regular. He recently relayed out the market portion of the store and it is much better organized in my opinion, no longer claustrophobic! He has a decent selection of products especially some pretty good brands for his dairy items like Organic Valley, Roots Hummus, and some good cheeses. Check them out when they are open!

The sandwich makeup was meh but the idea of minced chicken in chicken salad was a great choice. The service is fast and very friendly. Their prices are spot on and although the selection may be small their products are high quality. 👍

The cafe part is so-so, the $7 sandwiches we got were no better than ones we could have made at home. The shop is fine but items seem a little dusty. The people working don't seem to want to be there....putting out minimal effort.

Expired inventory is common. Seems to run out of everything every few weeks. Prices are too high.

Friendly neighborhood store. Typical here in DC. Staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. I had breakfast here and it was decent.

This place is horrible. The staff is very rude. The manager needs to do some customer service refresher classes. Staff blasting YouTube videos from their mobile devices not even attending/ acknowledging guests who are trying to check out. The staff who fix the sandwiches doesn't even acknowledge you because she's busy on her phone.I was turned away because my chip card wasn't working and the staff did not want to manually key my card. They do not have the new chip card technology. She told the sandwich lady to not make my sandwich and told me to go else where. Only swiped my card once and continued to tell me "no". I will no longer patronize this place. The market on 2nd street and 4th street both serve better food that's not so over priced and their staff is much nicer. This place gets a negative 1 star

This is truly a convenience store. It survives on convenience alone. Prices are higher than any other shop for just about everything, but then again, they kind of have a monopoly on "fresh" produce and interesting groceries. On the plus side, they have a deli, (slow service... Don't come in here sat morning for an egg sandwich thinking it'll be fast), a solid selection of wine, beer, and snacks. They sometimes have spicy injera chips, which are divine. They also close a little early, and open a little late on the weekends... But, it's convenient if you're missing something or craving ice cream... They have a devoted ice cream freezer!

Pretty good sandwiches and decent drinks here, but it always seems to take ages to actually get your order. The attached store, while still very small, is the best bet for groceries and staples in the neighborhood.

Favorite Place to Go when I'm in the DC area. I always make a point to go everytime I'm in DC. Basically you can get anything from a snack, specialty coffee, to dinner and deserts. Love it!

Th convenience of this location is the best part about it. I needed to grab a sandwich and a snack on my way somewhere and it happened to be right by my friend’s place. The breakfast bagel sandwich looked nice but it wasn’t great and had a strange flavor to it (cooked on a hot plate in the back) and took a while to be made but it filled me up satisfactorily. The cake slices looked like they’d be delicious but I didn’t have time to grab a pieve. Prices in the convenient store are also a bit high, but that was to be expected.

Fully staffed at all times. Wonderful market and decent indoor cafe with seatings. Nothing to denigrate here, unfortunately this market is being denigrated by malicious graffiti idiots.
