My sandwich was recommended to me by what I can only describe as a sandwich man who also recommended I put rubber bands on my socks. I expected another run of the mill deli sandwich but to date I've never had anything as good from a deli. I wish I could come back it was so good.

Awesome little place to grab a quick bite

I had the turkey with brie and honey mustard. So unique and SO good. The sassy man taking orders was fun and the place had that simple, family run look to it. Will definitely eat here again.

Yum! This is an authentic New York deli. I've been to Carnegie Deli in Manhattan and this place takes me right back! Good hearty soups and sandwiches done right. You gotta visit this place 👍🏽

I was driving back to Memphis from a weekend retreat in Georgia. This place was suggested to us. I got the chicken salad sandwich and it was probably the best chicken salad sandwich I've had in a while. I got the oatmeal raisin cookie and it was alright for the price. It tasted like the dough had been freezer burned. Sandwiches run about $9, chips are $1.25, big cookies are $1.50, and water is free. There was no wait, the tables were clean, and the sandwich was great. If I'm passing through Chatt again I will definitely go back.

So he doesn’t advertise it that I know of, but he carries a gluten free bread and yes, it’s like real bread! I was diagnosed with Celiac 3 months ago so my eating out came to a halt and River Street is my favorite deli to boot. I’ve spent those 3 months going through all of the gluten free breads and none are even close to real bread. Just walk in, tell them you have the gluten thing going. I pretty much let the man himself pick my sandwich and it’s a home run every time. Thank you River Street Deli!

Honestly, such amazing food. Absolutely packed with people, so I get a little uncomfortable with the commotion. However, the atmosphere, friendliness of staff, and quality of food more than makes up for it.

An authentic New York deli (the owner is a New Yorker), the River Street Deli is an excellent place to eat, or carry out to the nearby park or river walk. Service was prompt, and the owner himself told us about the day's special, a delicious turkey bacon melt. My spouse had the Elana Ruz...a bizarre but tasty concoction of turkey, strawberry jam and cream cheese served on panini bread. They had a selection of soups and sides available as well, with the special soup of the day already sold out when we got there. We will definitely return.

Michelle makes the best sandwiches in town. She always, can tell you about anything on the menu! When I'm unsure of what I want, she always steers me in the right direction.

This is BEST deli I have ever been to. I live in Atlanta and look forward to my drive to Nashville just to drop by here! The owner is wonderful and is so informative about the food. I always get the Philly reuben because it is my all time favorite sandwich. I go out of my way to visit delis to try Reubens and this is by far the best. But today, he convinced me to try the NY brisket. I gotta say It as equally amazing.He even checked on us as we were eating and asked how it was. It seems to be the go to place for locals and I wish I could have one in my town. But for now, I will always look forward to stopping by.
