It's still really cold on the ocean there in May, but there will be whales. They start showing up in mid April.

You will have as good of a chance as anyone. Whales show up around the end of April beginning of May and stay until October.

Yes, they have a selection of food on the boat, cash only. They have beer and wine as well as soft drinks, water, and some other drinks as well. Fair warning though, be sure your stomach can handle the ocean and food/drink before eating or drinking as the seas can be rather rough. On our trip, quite a few people did get sick so just be careful.
