Wendell Smith's Restaurant

This place is kind of known as a Nashville meat-n-three legend, sort of like Arnold's or the now closed Mack's and Pie Wagon. Some local musicians use their outside sign for album artwork, such as Marty Stuart and Lee Ann Rimes. And considering I could walk there from work, it is surprising I have only been there maybe half a dozen times, I just usually brown bag my lunch. I did go there with a group of friends for lunch a couple of weeks ago and it was good. Pretty busy too. The inside doesn't look like it has been updated since they opened, and there is plenty of tar staining on the ceiling from the days when smoking was allowed inside. Their daily special the day I went was four meat choices and maybe 12-15 vegetables. They also have a regular menu you can order from, and I believe they serve breakfast all day. Pretty good stuff....

Lots of regulars hanging out. Our waitress was on the ball with her service. Had breakfast. Picky about how my eggs & bacon cooked. Perfectly done! Quite enough food and reasonably priced. Lots of choices on menu. Will go back again.

Meatloaf, excellent. Blackberry cobbler, awesome. Coming back? No doubt. Staff is really friendly as well.

Been eating at Wendell Smith's for years and love it. Great Southern home cooking. Can't beat it if you like meat and 3.

This is the my favorite restaurant in Nashville. They do breakfast the way it should be done. I’ve been coming here for ten years when I’m in town and it always consistently great. With all the changes that have come to the neighborhood it’s nice to see some places keeping it original. Can’t wait until I get to enjoy it again.

Love their breakfast & lunch! The food is always fresh at breakfast & lunch. The staff is very nice & have been there for many years. We visit every time we are in town & I miss their food & the atmosphere dearly. They’ve done several updates in the last few years & have the restaurant looking fantastic!

Fantastic meat and 3! And a wonderful breakfast menu. I would recommend the bacon cheese burger with home fries and gravy on top.

Dependable in good food and good service. Have been visiting this meat and three for many years. Always the best. My favorites are the Roast Beef, Fried Catfish, Salmon Patties, with choice of green beans, baked squash, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, or turnips. They have many other choices, but those are my favs.

Our uber driver said this I her favorite spot to eat, and it's easy to see why. We were the only tourists here so it's obviously a hidden gem. The staff were friendly and the food was soooooo good. I can't believe the amount we ate for $10. The mac & cheese was deliciously creamy. The fried chicken was crispy and very tasty. The green beans were the perfect consistency and awesome taste. The marshmallow yams were a bit too sweet to eat a lot of, but very yummy, I should have had it for dessert. All of the food was unbelievably good!

I've been eating at Wendell Smith's Meat and three for over 30 years. Never, have I had a bad meal at this place! Get yourself some sweet tea and a meeting 3 and be ready to feel like it just had Thanksgiving dinner. Except it's much cheaper because they do keep the cost reasonable.

Oh Wendell Smith you and your little restaurant. Love this place! this is definitely a community spot, folks have been coming here for many many years table so close together you got to get up so someone can get out but everyone talks to one another you're only in arms reach away! The food is no frills... what I had was okay but I'm willing to go back and try something else. Wait staff was absolutely darling and friendly loved our server!
