Waterman's Surfside Grille

We went as part of Virginia Beach Restaurant Week. Waterman's is at the end of the Virginia Beach boardwalk right on the waterside. The window beach views are spectacular. I got the she crab soup, fish tacos and frozen peanut butter pie. The service was quick, personable and correct. The food was marvelous! I am a local, but had never been there - I will definitely return and highly recommend Waterman's. Yum!

The food was prepared well and the service was punctual. The atmosphere was great. You could look out at the water and waves.But for the price 2 fried seafood dinners at $113 with tip one would expect a little better. You walk away with a feeling something is missing. This is not to say there was not an ample serving there was. Maybe a small crab dip and crackers or cheese and toast. Something to make the meal different than other places.It is an experience not just a place to eat.I would dine here again at sunset with friend looking for the water waves and that end of day feeling.

I was there the other night with family and GLORIA was our server and did an awesome job! Greeted us with beautiful smile and suggested some entrees that we really enjoyed! Service was great and Gloria was so pleasant, and helpful!!! Best service! Loved everything and will be definitely back!!! Letting all my Filipino family..

The valet was so friendly. Tanner, our waiter had the biggest smile. My niece was visiting from Dallas & he was excited for her to try the BEST Chesapeake Bay crab cakes & an official Orange Crush! She thoroughly enjoyed them, as always, they were cooked to perfection!!! It is evident that Tanner loves working at Waterman's! I had fresh flounder w a special parmesan mix crust. DELICIOUS 💯💯💯we LOVE to eat here overlooking the Atlantic Ocean😃

I like coming here for the food quality, the orange crush and the views. Situated right on the boardwalk. Prices are reasonable. Service is good and drinks are well done. They have valet parking as well. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.

I can't count how many times we've eaten here as a family. We celebrate milestones or just come to enjoy a meal by the boardwalk and oceanfront. Food is always phenomenal, wait staff is attentive and the CRUSHES....do yourself a favor and have one!!

This place wasn’t bad but it’s geared at tourists for sure. I can’t see a lot of locals coming here unless for a special event.- Free valet parking- Amazing beach view- Friendly staff- Overpriced alcohol- Bland food- Slow serviceWhen you visit do yourself a favor and sit out side with a beautiful view of the beach, it will help the long wait fly by. Even if you’re not having an engaging conversation, people watching can be fun. We had amazing service here, which resulted in a nice tip when the waitress updated us on the show service and attempted to cheer up my son who was starving.The food was decent, very bland. Everything lacked color, very dull and uninspired. I eat with my eyes and the food was boring. There wasn’t much flavor, basically something you could whip up at home with an air fryer for half the price. I wouldn’t come back.

I have mixed feelings about Waterman’s; their service was amazing and so was the atmosphere, but the food was so disappointing. I ordered “the Famous Waterman’s Pasta” which was listed as a house favorite. It was described as a Cajun pasta with shrimp, scallops and andouille sausage. The pasta sauce was a bland cream based sauce that I added so much pepper to in order to make it more flavorful and it only contained shrimp. There was not one piece of either scallops or andouille sausage in the entire dish. It really wasn’t that enjoyable at all. The peanut butter pie was very good and so was the wine. Service was beyond impeccable.

The food is great! Amazing view. We even showed up a few minutes before they opened and they didn't turn us away like most places would do.

Went here for my birthday dinner and it was a great choice. Service was quick(and I had a party of 15),drinks were great, and it was a very classy price. I was honestly surprised how reasonable the pricing of the menu was for the most part. Also loved that they offered complimentary valet service. Id recommend this place 10x over!

Easily one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Virginia Beach is drowning in seafood joints, and out of every single one, Waterman's is the best, bar none.The staff is wonderful to an exceptional degree. I was lucky enough to have Tanner as my waiter. He was polite, knowledgeable, and above all, spectacular.

My first time eating dinner here this evening with my husband and it was delicious. The food was very flavorful, and did not disappoint. It was a pleasure to be served by Austin she was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We searched online for restaurants nearby and I'm glad we chose this one. We will be back. 😋🍤🦀

Our server was GLORIA. She was absolutely incredible. Kind, outgoing and ready to assist at every turn. Recommended several entrees and her choice for me was delicious. Best service I've had in some time. So helpful. So courteous.

Came here with a small group. Food and service were fantastic! Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals and atmosphere. Will definitely be back again!

On vacation in Virginia Beach with my sister. What a delightful city and the beach and boardwalk wonderful. Only in town for a few days, this was our dinner choice for our last night there. This is a popular choice and was very crowded. We took seats at the bar and then a table opened up in the bar. We had a delightful young woman who waited on us. Susan had the crab cakes and I had the fried shrimp. The food was nicely done and came piping hot. A glass of wine and the meal was perfect. Such a lovely setting right on the beach. We watched the sunset as we ate and walked the boardwalk back to our hotel. Thank you to Waterman's and the wonderful young lady who made our meal one to remember. This is an easy choice, take it. You won't be disappointed.
